It’s Oom-pa-pa time again!

Lake Worth’s American German Club is hosting its signature event for the 36th time this year.
Held on ten acres in Lake Worth under the pavilion and a massive tent, this is one of the largest Oktoberfest celebrations in the U.S.

Beginning with the Parade of Flags, you’ll be transported to another culture. Munch down authentic German cooking including bratwurst, potato salad, leberkäse, sauerkraut, original Hofbräu Bier, then work it off dancing to the two bands direct from Munich Oktoberfest. With music by Heldensteiner and Bayerisch Bluat, you won’t be able to sit still!

As an extra treat, they’ve also invited ethnic performers from around the world to show their stuff, including the Renegade Line Dancers, Ukrainian Dancers of Miami, Sea Turtle Clog Tappers, Palm Beach Pipes & Drums, even Belly Dancers.

The kids will love Cookie the Clown and the expanded kids area with carnival rides.
When: 5-11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9-11 and Oct. 16-18.
Rain or Shine.

Where: American German Club of the Palm Beaches, 5111 Lantana Road, Lake Worth.

Tickets: $7. Children younger than 12 are free. Free parking. Preferred and handicapped parking is $10.

    Madeline,
Here’s an idea, but I think we’re probably better off either going to the Hofbrau house in Tequesta or the Tiki bar in Riviera Beach where we danced before OR Yardhouse.

Thinking about going back to the golf club today, but now that I’ve cooled off…I was sweating like I haven’t sweated in years…almost didn’t finish the bucket of balls. I thought I’d have heat exhaustion half the way through. But I perservered and finished the bucket.

It is October. If “the world is a clown” we should go. Or is “life just a cocktail party on the street. I can’t give it away on seventh avenue…” I do think life is a party and an adventure. Whatever you want to do is fine with me.

I’ve been going to Oktoberfest of the Palm Beach’s for over 30 years and have always had a great time. The bands from Germany have always been fantastic, the food has always been great, and the German American Club has always done a first class job at hosting this event. It’s the only event I’ve ever gone to where everybody always has a smile on their face. It is a world class event where a great time is had by all!
