Celebrate Purim through dance with the Florida Classical Ballet Theatre’s performance of For Such A Time As This: The Story of Esther. The ballet, based on the biblical book of Esther, tells the story of a courageous woman who became a queen and risked everything to save her people.
Last summer, the company performed the ballet in Budapest, Hungary, in a variety of settings including in a women’s maximum security prison, a girls’ correctional facility, a church, a subway station and a coffeehouse.
This original ballet was conceived and choreographed by the company’s artistic director Colleen Smith. The music for the ballet is a compilation of pieces by Edvard Grieg.
