The master actors of The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre in Jupiter will heat up the stage this weekend at the annual Summer Showcase.

The showcase will feature performances from Burt Reynolds’ Master Acting Class, an invitation-only program for actors Reynolds deems worthy.

"It was unreal when he said, ‘Welcome to class,’ " said actress Amy Hoerler . "I’ve learned more in my short time at BRIFT from Burt Reynolds than all of my other acting classes combined."

Hoerler, also the multimedia coordinator for the institute, will be joined in the showcase by other s who attend Reynolds’ master class on a weekly basis. She is slated to perform alongside Michael Vadnal in a piece titled Chocolate, one of the nine Reynolds-approved scenes from plays that will be presented at the showcase.

Chocolate, written by Frederick Stoppel, is a dark comedy featuring a homicide detective, portrayed by Vadnal, and a murderous woman with an affinity for chocolate, played by Hoerler.

Other selections include Life and Limb starring Sherman Roberts and Jeanne Bennett, and The Gingerbread Lady with Rhonda Stearns and Jackie McDow performing, both dark comedies as well. Neil Simon’s Chapter Two will also be on display with performances by Klif Gehring and Robb Sellards. The Star Spangled Girl and The Odd Couple, also by Simon, will also be on display, in addition to other pieces in genres including romance and comedy.
