Click here if you haven’t read part 1.

And now, more from the wonderful world of our undead friends. Amazing how many there really are…

Stubbs the Zombie

Genre: Video game

Stubbs the Zombie Rebel Without a Pulse

What? Stubbs, the undead 1950s-era traveling salesman who is the main character from the 2005 video game Rebel Without a Pulse.

Zombie speed: 6 — assuming you know how to handle him running.

Zombie strength: This ranges — as long as you can keep control, Stubbs will keep up.

Zombie hunger: Stubbs loves braaaaaains! 10.

Zombie ingenuity: 6. He uses many of the same old tricks, but in this not-for-kids video game Stubbs can pass gas, throw his organs and eat with the best of them. Strangely, the alterna-rock soundtrack to this video game is one of the best out there. With ’50s covers from indie bands like The Raveonettes, Death Cab for Cutie, The Walkmen and The Dandy Warhols, if you don’t like video games or zombies, the game’s soundtrack may be more your speed.

Zombie determination: Depends. Stubbs will come as hungry as you are. You’re in control after all.

Scare factor: 5.

World War Z

Genre: Book

200px-World_War_Z_book_cover

What? World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War written by Max Brooks, son of Mel Brooks and the late Anne Bancroft. Brooks also wrote 2003’s The Zombie Survival Guide.

Zombie speed: It’s not the individual speed, but the speed of infection that’s scary. The book charts the pandemic and the resulting decade-long war between humans and zombies from across the world. Zombies, 3. Virus, 10.

Zombie strength: 10. This book imagines the United States relocating its capital to Hawaii, Cuba becoming the international banking capital of the world and North Korea devoid of people. With those kind of changes happening, it’s fair to say these zombies are strong and winning the war.

Zombie hunger: 10. They’re zombies. They eat. It’s what they do.

Zombie ingenuity: They live on the ocean floor and pop up when you least expect them. They’re resilient. 8.

Zombie determination: It’s 10 years later and the zombie threat is still high. 10.

Scare factor: 11. Take this story and substitute any kind of infectious bug for the zombie outbreak. Just how would countries around the world react? Shiver.

The Zombie

Genre: Cocktail

zombie_3What? A fruity ‘30s-era rum drink named after its perceived effects on the drinker. It became hugely popular during the Tiki craze.

Zombie speed: 7. Be careful.

Zombie strength: Depends on the bartender.

Zombie hunger: You’d better eat if you order one, so plan on coming hungry.

Zombie ingenuity: 10.

Here’s the recipe, and we think you’ll agree — it’s quite a list of ingredients:

1/2 ounce white rum
1/2 ounce golden rum
1 ounce dark rum
1/2 ounce 151-proof rum
1 ounce lime juice
1 teaspoon pineapple juice
1 teaspoon papaya juice
1 teaspoon superfine sugar

Zombie determination: Depending on your bartender, this can be potent, so watch out.

Scare factor: Don’t drink too many and we won’t have to assign a number to this category. Deal?
