See full venue: Thaikyo

MENU

Thai and Japanese food share the menu. Masaman curry, pad Thai, teriyaki and tempura come from the kitchen, sushi and sashimi from the sushi bar. The menu offers the usual staples, including rainbow rolls.

ATMOSPHERE

Friendly and cheerful. Thaikyo is in a large space in the Plaza Del Mar, and there are plenty of windows and outdoor seating. Read the full story

Ocean Bistro at Four Seasons: Service and soft-shell crab

By Jeff Ostrowski   |  Restaurant reviews  |  July 01, 2009

MENU

Modern but elegant. Entrées include filet mignon, free-range chicken and soft-shell crab. The side dishes — four-cheese creamed spinach, pad thai and tangerine baby carrots with pistachios — are more daring. The Ocean Bistro is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

ATMOSPHERE

Chichi but casual. The Ocean Bistro overlooks the pool at the Four Seasons Resort, making for an odd juxtaposition of white tablecloths and diners in shorts. There’s a view of the ocean. Read the full story

Vic & Angelo’s menu appeals to everyone

Vic & Angelo's serves burgers and pizzas to succulent seafood dishes including Chilean sea bass in a fun atmosphere with friendly service.

MENU

Expansive. We had trouble choosing from the large selection of coal-oven pizzas, burgers made from grass-fed cows, steaks, pasta and seafood.

ATMOSPHERE

Sleek but laid-back. The tap in the ultra-modern bathroom proved a bit of a brain teaser, as did the orange Crocs worn by the wait staff. There’s an outdoor patio and an indoor dining room filled with TVs.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

We ordered the pan-seared Chilean sea bass in beurre blanc sauce ($34), which was tender, succulent and one of the best-prepared pieces of fish we’ve ever tasted. The scallops over angel hair pasta ($29) and the tuna crudo appetizer ($14.50) also were exquisite.

REASON TO GO

Excellent food, friendly service and fun atmosphere. We splurged, but we could have enjoyed a first-rate meal for much less by splitting a pizza instead of ordering two entrées.

SERVICE

Knowledgeable and professional. We give our server a thumbs-up for recommending the Chilean sea bass.

NOISE LEVEL

Moderate din. The restaurant was crowded, and the music was loud but not overbearing.

KID FRIENDLY

A number of diners had kids in tow, and pizza is a sure kid-pleaser.
