Restaurant Listing: Directions, reviews, more

The scene: Dinner and a movie — that time-honored date-night option — comes in its most convenient, and plush, form at Bogart’s Bar & Grille, tucked away on the upstairs Premier Level of the Cinemark Palace 20. Recently renovated with tigerwood floors and an expanded, golden granite bar, Bogart’s is accessed by a separate entrance north of the theater lobby, and can be visited without seeing a movie.

The patrons: Families can enjoy lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., but Bogart’s becomes a 21-and-over establishment from 2 until late night.

Signature cocktail: The Grey Goose Lychee Martini ($12), a sweet, smooth blend of vodka, cranberry and pineapple juices — and Southern Comfort. At the bottom of the glass: a lychee fruit that’s been slowly marinating in the martini. Yum.

Other noteworthy libations:
The bar’s best seller, the Hawaiian Cosmopolitan, featuring Van Gogh pineapple vodka. The refreshing Huckleberry Lemonade, made with 44 North Huckleberry vodka. And the Root Beer Float — root beer vodka, vanilla liqueur, ginger ale and Jagermeister. Its heavenly root beer scent reminds you of childhood. That finishing kick of Jager does not.

For less adventurous types, Bogart’s pours wine by the glass and bottle, makes its own sangria and has Heineken and Amstel Light on tap.

Bar bites:
The full menu includes selections from owner Burt Rapoport’s other properties — pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, steaks, seafood and pasta — and is available at the bar. In the mood for something lighter? The crispy tacos ($9.95), made with shredded duck in a chili-lime BBQ sauce and dressed with Asian slaw, are mouthwatering, as is the wasabi-seared sashimi tuna ($14.95), served with sweet ginger and Thai chili sauces.

Music and more:
Five flat-screen TVs over the bar, ’80s hits on the sound system and — just a few yards away — six theaters, tricked out with sofa-like seats. And, yes, you can take your food and drinks into the movie with you.

Deals:
Super-size your $12 martini by purchasing it in a take-home shaker — which holds the equivalent of one-and-a-half martinis — for $20, and whenever you bring the shaker back, you can fill it up with martini for only $14.

Info: Upstairs at the Cinemark Palace 20, 3200 Airport Road, Boca Raton. (561) 544-3044 or, for dinner/movie reservations, call (561) 395-4695. BogartsOfBoca.com
