It seems that every time the World Cup comes around, the list of bars showing the world’s biggest sporting event grows in the area. This time around, there are not only a good deal of places showing it, but many are becoming the “official” hangouts for a country’s fans.
Here’s a sample of some of the places showing the games. If your bar is World Cup-friendly, let us know. Tell us about it at pbpulse.com/worldcup.
Blue Anchor Pub, 804 E. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach: Nautical-themed British pub where ex-pats will likely be rooting on Wayne Rooney and the Three Lions. That’s England, by the way.
O’Shea’s Irish Pub, 531 Clematis St., West Palm Beach: The auld pub has been a favorite viewing spot for a few WC’s now, and this year’ll be no exception. You’ll probably want to get in early, as seating will be limited.
Paddy Mac’s, 10971 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens: The World Cup tradition lives on at this Gardens Irish pub, even though the boys in green didn’t make it this time around. They’ll be serving Irish breakfast for the early games, and it’s USA all the way this year.
Rooney’s All-In Sports Bar, 6901 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach: Considering they show just about everything else, is it surprising that this “sports theater” bar is also showing World Cup games?
Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, 5550 NW 40th St., Coconut Creek: The casino’s Sunset Grill is holding events through the week, including a kickoff party on Thursday at 5 p.m.
Tucci’s Pizza, 50 N.E. First Ave., Boca Raton: During a select number of games, this place – which has the reputation as one of the top pizza places in Boca – will be offering free food and $3 wine and beer. The website Worst Pizza has more on this.
Wowies, 7036 Palmetto Park Rd., Boca Raton: This huge sports bar has taken on a few “official viewing parties” and will be showing games on 31 big-screen TVs, including a monstrous 123-inch projection screen. The games should be fun, as long as you’re not distracted by the waitresses.

Not a huge fan of the sport, but it is a major multinational sporting event. Not like the “World Series” or the Super Bowl that does not leave US borders.
Hope all you fans enjoy the hell out of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Such a dry and monotonous sport to watch. I realize it has a huge international following, but for the life of me it is a mystery.
Understand most Americans don’t get it. It is like a sword fight a mistake and your dead, like Mr Green had today. It is extemely hard to score unlike basketball with uncalled travelling and 7 foot guys jumping to dunk a basketball 3 feet. Think of Joe Montana threading a pefect pass to Jerry Rice except JR has to control the ball with his feet as he runs full blast and then slot the ball perfectly past the keeper. A tie is not a win but it is part and parcel of your team’s position for the next game. You probably won’t be able to advance ( to the next round) on ties so the next game will often force you to play for a win. Momentum builds.
Funny that this piece doesn’t mention Duffy’s Sports Bars.. they all show the games… not on every TV, but enough.
Football is the best Sport in the world. The most competitive and with real athletes playing more than 50 games a year.. and I m so happy the US is doing well , maybe some day America will realize why is it call the Beautiful game.. OEEEOEOEOEEEEE USA USA
Soccer is mostly a slow and elegant chess match with occasional flashes of excitement. It is a lot like bullfighting. There is so much more going on than meets the eye. But if you do not grow up playing or watching soccer you will never understand it. Don’t try. There’s nothing wrong with loving football or baseball. Most soccer fans could care less about baseball. But that doesn’t detract from the fact that baseball is a great sport. Go USA.
All Hurricane Grill & Wings locations..Boca Raton, Royal Palm Beach, Donald Ross, PGA, Jensen Beach, Stuart, Palm City, St.Lucie West, Tradition, Kitterman Road, Vero Beach
Chess is more exciting. Soccer is a dull game for people who are despirate for something to cheer about.
understand that the reason soccer(real football) is not popular in america is because the television media cant make money of of it the advertising is handled by the stadium and have no breaks for commercial. People should also take notice that without soccer there would be no basketball and no american football since the are both derivatives of soccer
