Daniel Radcliffe wore his “Harry Potter” attire for the last time this week as shooting wrapped on the final installment of the series.
“Everyone was really devastated. It was really, really sad,” Radcliffe said Sunday. “Were crying quite a lot.”
He talked about Potter as he arrived at Radio City Music Hall for the 64th Annual Tony Awards, where he and Katie Holmes presented the best featured actress in a play award to Scarlett Johansson.
“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” will be released in two parts with the first installment coming out later this year, and the finale next summer.
When asked how it felt to end his role as the boy wizard, Radcliffe said, “It’s a weird, weird feeling.”
Radcliffe, who starred in a revival of “Equus” in 2008, returns to Broadway next spring in a revival of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”

Fifteen-year-old Colleen Kelley strutted into a throng of theme-park guests and struck a pose in her new Slytherin robe and matching wand. The Fort Lauderdale teen had just exited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure.
She was among the first members of the public to experience the new attraction, which had a two-hour preview Friday morning for customer who purchased a special Harry Potter package at Universal Orlando Resort hotels.
“We researched it for months in advance because I’m a huge Potter fan,” Kelley said. “It’s my birthday present, and it’s the greatest present of my life.”
Kelley and other preview participants experienced the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride that’s housed in the signature Hogwarts castle. Once onboard, passengers virtually fly along with the Potter character through various adventures and encounters with Dementors, dragons and a Quidditch match.

One thing hasn’t changed with “Shrek”: Puss in Boots still steals the show.
The fourth and supposedly final “Shrek” film, “Shrek Forever After,” premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Wednesday night at New York’s Ziegfeld Theatre.
It was a glitzy affair for the film, the first in the franchise to be released in 3-D. Given the box-office boost 3-D films have seen — particularly since “Avatar” — the film’s studio, Dreamworks, expects a 3-D “Shrek” to cap a franchise that has already earned more than $1 billion at the domestic box office.
“Shrek Forever After,” which will be released May 21, returns the voice cast of Mike Myers (Shrek), Cameron Diaz (Fiona), Eddie Murphy (Donkey) and Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots, the Zorro-like feline.

Director Ridley Scott’s “Robin Hood,” starring Russell Crowe in the role of the famed outlaw, will open the Cannes Film Festival on May 12.
The festival said Friday that the film will not compete for prizes.
Crowe has already teamed up with Scott many times, in “Gladiator,” ”A Good Year,” ”American Gangster” and “Body of Lies.”
By playing Robin Hood on screen, Crowe follows in the footsteps of Errol Flynn, Sean Connery and Kevin Costner. Cate Blanchett plays his love interest, Maid Marian.
The festival runs from May 12 to 23.

Disney’s plan to quickly release the blockbuster “Alice in Wonderland” on DVD is sparking new heat in a debate between Hollywood studios and movie theaters over how quickly films move from the big screen to people’s living rooms.
Moviegoers will have the option of watching “Alice” at home in about three months, worrying some theater owners who fear that narrowing the gap between theatrical runs and DVD debuts will undermine ticket sales as some fans skip the cinema and wait for the DVD.
“A robust, exclusive theatrical window remains vital for the health of cinemas and the movie industry as a whole,” John Fithian, president of the National Association of Theatre Owners, told members in a speech Tuesday at their annual ShoWest convention.
Studios like short windows between theatrical and DVD releases because it speeds up their cash flow and allows them to pull in DVD business while films are fresh in audiences’ minds. Longer lags for DVDs also leave more time for movie pirates to sell counterfeit copies.

FOR KIDS 6 AND OLDER:
ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE SQUEAKQUEL — There’s not much of a movie here as the Chipmunks enroll in high school. There is very mild sexual innuendo and a few crude expressions. One Chipmunk is briefly menaced by a bird of prey. A lady’s wheelchair bumps down stairs, injuring her.
THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG — Kids 6 and older ought to be utterly taken with Disney’s new animated feature. When Tiana and the prince, as frogs, are pursued by hungry gators, it is briefly scary. One animal character dies.
FOR KIDS 8 AND OLDER:
THE SPY NEXT DOOR — A sorry absence of charm and humor, plus a torturously contrived plot make The Spy Next Door a painful experience for adults. Kids between 8 and 12 may get some enjoyment from its mix of slapstick and derring-do, nonetheless. Jackie Chan plays Bob Ho, a secret agent on loan from China to the U.S. government. There are numerous martial-arts stunts and fights with blades and fists. The kids are put in danger. The boy is forced to use mild sexual innuendo in a way that doesn’t suit his preteen age. There is rare, mild profanity.
