Just before Monica Danna set off for a recent trip to New York, she downloaded the Not for Tourist app onto her iPhone.
At $3.99, a hefty amount in the world of iPhone applications, NFT helped Danna and her friend, Maggie McDonald, map out shopping stops while in the Big Apple. The app directed them (via the phone’s internal GPS) to the nearby Jesse James boutique in the Greenwich Village area, where Danna found a scarf at an affordable $30 and McDonald bought a holiday party dress for just $50. The dress was on sale, marked down from $200.
"I’m always looking for new stores when I travel," said Danna, a Houston publicist who writes the CosmoPolitician blog. "It was short and to the point. And it was well worth the money."
Welcome to the new world of fashion and shopping.
