By Parade   |  Celeb Stalker, Reality TV  |  December 20, 2011

Bachelor host Chris Harrison has been intimately involved in some of the biggest hookups and breakups in pop culture. From Trista and Ryan’s eight-year marriage to Jake and Vienna’s tabloid-fueled split, Harrison knows that while love may be easy to find on a fantasy TV date, it’s not easy to keep.

Harrison, 40, talked to Parade.com about the Jan. 2 premiere of The Bachelor with Ben Flajnik (ABC, 8 p.m. ET). Plus, how he’s changing things up with a new hosting gig on the heartfelt game show, You Deserve It.

On the toughest part about hosting The Bachelor.
“I guess what I find the most challenging is just keeping up with our Bachelor or Bachelorette and staying in tune with them emotionally and trying to say and do the right things for them and be a friend. I’m a host, but more importantly, I feel like I’m a friend.”

“Millionaire Matchmaker” Patti Stanger on dating, redheads and a shocking twist

By Leslie Gray Streeter   |  Reality TV, TV  |  November 17, 2011

Patti Stanger is not one for mincing words. The star of Bravo’s “The Millionaire Matchmaker” is famous for telling it how she sees it, and there’s very little question how she feels about – about how society has emasculated men, how gentlemen prefer blonds, brunettes and pretty much anyone who’s not a redhead, and how sex before monogamy dooms a serious relationship.

So she’s not kidding around when she assures you that the last three shows of the season, an episode where the very outspoken matchmaker becomes the matchmakee, and the two-part  reunion show hosted by Bravo exec and “Watch What Happens Live” host Andy Cohen, feature “the most exciting thing that will ever happen on Bravo.”

Perhaps you didn’t hear her.

“The ending is the biggest twist we’ve ever had,” Stanger says. “‘The Bachelor”s got nothing on it. I cry. And I never cry on network televiion. I’m not Kyle or Bethany and Jill. But if you bring up anything to do with my personal life, or being adopted or looking for my birth parents, I start bawling. I cry my eyes out.”

Broward deputies’ reality TV show contracts turned over to judge

By Sun Sentinel   |  Reality TV  |  August 29, 2011

FORT LAUDERDALE—
Contracts for four Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies who appear on “Police Women of Broward County” reality TV show were turned over to a Broward County judge Monday for his review.

The side deals with the deputies are being sought by the Broward public defender and the state attorney.

At issue is whether the women are being paid to “manufacture arrests” that may appear on the TV show, and whether show business is influencing them while they’re enforcing the law, Assistant Public Defender Gordon Weekes Jr. says.
There are seven cases in which he says the contracts are an issue.

“We’re inching closer,” Weekes said after Discovery Communications gave the contracts to Broward Circuit Judge David Haimes. Discovery owns TLC, the network that has aired two seasons of “Police Women of Broward County.”

Weekes still wants his colleagues to also be able to review the deputies’ deals.

Assistant state attorney Jeff Marcus had subpoenaed the deputies’ contracts, and on Monday, the company complied with the subpoena. The state is legally required to provide all evidence in the possession of law enforcement that is favorable to the defense.

Discovery Communications had previously tried to keep the deals confidential, citing trade secrets in a highly competitive industry.

The corporation has said in court documents that the women are not paid for the type or quantity of arrests they make on the show.

The Sheriff’s Office has said their employees are paid by the reality TV show for their off-duty time, though the deputies appear in episodes while in uniform and on the job, using county equipment and vehicles.

Dana McElroy, one of Discovery’s lawyers, argued before the judge that confidential terms of the contract do not shed any light on any possible motives that are suggested by the public defender. She also argued that it was not relevant how much the deputies were being paid.

“So in other words if there is an expert witness, you can ask, ‘Well, aren’t you getting paid?’ but you can’t ask them how much?” Haimes said to McElroy. “I don’t think that’s ever the case.”

Haimes asked the lawyers to return Sept. 8 to continue their arguments. At that time, he is also scheduled to review Weeke’s request that the court find one of the deputies, Detective Andrea Penoyer, in contempt for not answering questions about the reality TV show during a deposition.

A North Carolina teenager who stars on MTV’s reality show “Teen Mom 2″ has been charged with a probation violation.

Brunswick County Detention Center Officer Chris Farmer said Jenelle Evans was brought to the county jail Monday evening. He did not have details of the arrest other than the charge.

The 19-year-old Evans was charged with assault in March after a fight recorded on video. A month later, she received 12 months of probation and community service for a drug paraphernalia charge.

Evans is from Oak Island.
