Walter Scott asks … Joe Manganiello (star of HBO’s True Blood, 33)
WS: Did you get cast as the werewolf Alcide Herveaux thanks to your muscles?
JM: In the books he’s physically imposing, but if he had a beer gut and a comb-over and was missing his teeth, that’s how I’d look in the part.
True Blood’s Joe Manganiello Talks ‘Werewolf Dating’
WS: You were an athletic kid. How did your dad react when you wanted to become an actor?
JM: Any father who has a 6-foot-5 kid who can run, throw, catch, dunk, and slide — I mean, you’re gonna be upset. But recently he wrote me a poem about a werewolf and framed it and brought it to me. I started crying. It was just this magical moment.
WS: Are there any similarities between you and Alcide?
JM: Yeah, there’s an episode where I cook a steak and walk off to eat it without a fork. That’s me — but not on a date. At least not on a first date.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — “True Blood” co-stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer have taken their true love to the altar.
The couple’s publicists said in a statement the 28-year-old Paquin and 40-year-old Moyer were married Saturday night at a ceremony in Malibu, Calif., “surrounded by their family and friends.”
On the hit HBO series, Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse, a Southern waitress who falls for vampire Bill Compton, played by Moyer. Compton is a Confederate veteran who was turned into a bloodsucker around the Civil War era.
Paquin also co-starred in the first three “X-Men” superhero movies and won a supporting-actress Academy Award at age 11 for 1993′s “The Piano.”

Well, whaddya know. Hugo’s a traitor, too.
I have to be honest, that one shocked me a little. I was really expecting Lorena to be behind it.
I guess poor Hugo can’t deal with his vamp not wanting to turn him and be with him for eternity. Rejection sucks, but that’s taking things a little too far.

But why didn’t Sookie read Hugo’s thoughts and realize that he was the traitor? If there’s ever a time to use that nifty little skill, ya know?
So poor Sookie is still trapped in The Fellowship of the Sun’s basement and Bill, forced to obey Lorena, can’t run out to save her.
Someone does come to her aid, though. Godric.
Which leaves me with another question: if Godric was imprisoned by The Fellowship, how does he manage to get to Sookie at all?
Jason tries to make a run for it when he realizes that his romp with Sarah might turn into more than he bargained for. Especially since Sarah is so gung-ho to break the news to Steve and, like Jason said, Steve has guns.
But he doesn’t get very far before he’s stopped by Steve and creepy Gabe. Jason kicks the crap out of Gabe and keeps running but Sarah soon catches up to him.
At this point I’m thinking she’s going to take him somewhere and keep him safe, but instead she accuses him of preying on her and shoots him. (The previews show it’s a paintball gun.)
She’s nuts, that one.
