MENU
Anything and everything you could want in an Italian restaurant, from calamari to soups to foccacia and calzones. Pizzas come in personal size as well as 16- and 18-inch pies. Pasta dishes abound, and there are entrees featuring chicken, veal and shrimp as well.
ATMOSPHERE
Open and airy, with high ceilings. Plenty of booths and tables. Pictures of Italy on the wall. An open pizza kitchen at one end.
OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE
We really enjoyed the cheese pizza ($15.95 for the 18-inch pie), which had a perfectly cooked thin crust. My pollo alla Roberto ($15.95) was tasty, though not what I expected. The menu says “grilled chicken, broccoli and tomato sautéed with basil over penne.” It was more of a red sauce on the penne, and the only basil I saw was a single fresh leaf garnishing the plate. We shared a piece of tiramisu ($6.95) that was rich and creamy and disappeared too quickly!
REASON TO GO
It’s a good place to bring the family for pizza. And there’s a case displaying an intriguing variety of gelato.
SERVICE
Disappointing. Our waitress was indifferent. She did not refill our water glasses or the bread basket. She never came by to check on our dinners. Twice we had to ask other servers to find her.
NOISE LEVEL
It was happy hour at the bar, so it was loud. There was an entertainer at the bar, and when he wasn’t singing, there was loud background music. Blame those high ceilings for the acoustics.
KID FRIENDLY
You can order kid-size portions of pasta. I saw many families with youngsters enjoying dinner.
