The test of a restaurant isn’t always avoiding mistakes but how those mistakes are dealt with when they happen.

And on that score, the staff of CityPlace’s Wild Ginger Asian Bistro acquits itself very, very well.

We stopped in for an early Sunday afternoon nosh, including spring rolls and an excellent selection of Republic of Tea drinks.

I noticed that the tofu that was supposed to be in my Thai cashew dish looked a lot like chicken, because it was chicken — which I don’t eat.

But literally seconds after the misplaced poultry hit the table, the waiter remembered, apologized and whisked it right away, followed by an immediate check-in from a manager and, soon, my tofu and deliciousness. I point out this simple scenario because such corrections often are not simple. Or drama-free. Or yummy. So … thanks.
