‘Tis the season on Clematis Street.

Event Listing: Holiday Block Party

For a holiday block party with a culinary twist, the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority is offering an International Holiday Taste on the 200 block of Clematis Street this Saturday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event will showcase several downtown restaurants, including Pistache French Bistro, Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar, Leila, Forte and Grease Burger Bar. (By the way, look for my review of Grease in Friday’s TGIF section.) Live music and international dance performances are also featured. Admission is free, but food samples are extra ($5 and under).

It’s all part of a six-week Holiday Kaleidoscope — a series of downtown seasonal celebrations. For more information, call (561) 833-8873 or go to downtowncelebrations.com.

A second Bradley’s

Venue Listing: E. R. Bradley’s Hole-in-One

Speaking of downtown West Palm Beach restaurants, an old-time favorite, E.R. Bradley’s Saloon (104 S. Clematis St., 561-833-3520, erbradleys.com) has just added a second location. But you’ll have to venture beyond downtown for a visit to the new E.R. Bradley’s Hole-in-One (7004 Parker Ave., West Palm Beach; 561-822-1594; erbradleysholeinone.com). As the name implies, the restaurant is situated on a golf course — the newly renovated West Palm Beach Golf Course, in fact.

That only makes sense. After all, restaurant namesake Colonel Edward R. Bradley, a contemporary of Henry Flagler, provided the land for the city’s first golf course — on what is now part of the Palm Beach International Airport. And naturally, pictures of Bradley and golf greats are part of the décor at Bradley’s Hole-in-One.

The idea is to play up the restaurant’s choice setting while still offering the same solid and varied menu that you’ll find at the original Bradley’s.

“It’s a great location, with a magnificent view, at one of the city’s hidden gems,” says Mitch Reale, managing partner of the new restaurant. (By the way, both Bradley’s are run by the same family — the Coniglios — that also own Cucina and Nick and Johnnie’s in Palm Beach.)

And if you need a further inducement to visit, the new Bradley’s, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, will be offering grand opening specials over the next few weeks.

Opera nights are back at Trattoria Delfino

Looking for a classy way to dine? How about pairing a three-course Italian meal with a little classical music — namely, opera?
That’s the premise behind the popular opera nights offered at longtime Jupiter favorite Trattoria Delfino (185 E. Indiantown Rd., 561-743-6414). The restaurant is under new management, but the pairing of pasta and Puccini continues unabated. The next opera night is set for this upcoming Tuesday and features a bill of world-class singers.

Entrée choices include veal marsala, chicken Sorrentino and grilled salmon; all meals come with salad, pasta, coffee and dessert. Reservations are required.
