I fully recognize that some of the things I like about salads make them calorically closer to a cheesesteak than to a plate of vegetables.

The Summer Salad at the West Boca outpost of Miller’s Ale House straddles the line between healthy and decadent — candied walnuts (which qualify as a protein, although candied), craisins (which, in small doses, give just enough of a sweet punch) and blue cheese (protein) over leafy spinach and romaine (Look! They’re healthy!).

I admit I was tempted to eat all the sweet stuff out and leave the greens, like picking the raisins out of the bran. But I’m glad I didn’t. The whole thing’s delicious!
