A Summer Dining Deal, revised:

City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill offers a correction on the summer special sent to us by the folks at CityPlace. City Cellar’s actual summer promotion is this: Buy one entree and get a second of equal or lesser value at 50 percent off (not free). The deal runs from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. every day and is extended to parties of all sizes. (For example, if a party of four dines, two entrees will be discounted 50 percent.) City Cellar is located at 700 South Rosemary Ave., West Palm Beach; (561) 366-0071.

Kitchenaid and Susan G. Komen for the Cure are teaming up with 1,000 cooks to battle breast cancer in July. Their Cook for the Cure partnership effort is hosting a nationwide competition called 1,000 Cooks for the Cure, from July 16-18. Cooks are invited to join the contest by hosting dining events in their homes during that weekend. Instead of providing flowers or gifts for the hostess, guests are encouraged to bring their checkbooks to make a donation for the cause.

Those interested in hosting a party should visit www.cookforthecure.com to register and obtain a host identification number. Registered hosts will be given access to an info kit that includes ideas, recipes and donation gathering information. Cooks who register and raise a minimum of $50 will receive a "Pass the Plate" serving platter created by Villeroy Boch upon receipt of the host’s contribution.

Cook for the Cure has raised more than $7 million in the fight against breast cancer over nine years. In support of the cause, KitchenAid also offers pink Cook for the Cure products at www.shopkitchenaid.com .

Great food…the dogs are good of course, but my personal favorite is the Greek Chicken and Pepper Steak. Friendly service (John Drummer and his wife, Ana, privately own it) and always good, fresh, warm food!
