UPDATE: Added Original Brooklyn Water Bagel to the poll — we’ll add your write-ins to new votes

More: More polls, results

Bagels are a way of life down here in Palm Beach County, no question about it.

Whether it’s breakfast with a shmear of cream cheese, maybe some nice lox, eggs and bacon, or even by itself, the bagel is a key part of everyday living in South Florida. But who does it the best?

Vote in our Taking Your Pulse poll for your favorite — and if we missed that little hole in the wall with the perfect water and the way they make them just so, there’s a blank for your answer too.

Way Beyond Bagel is great! Bagels are a funny thing. Kettle boiled or rack bake? There is a difference… The old school Kettle Boiled is the only way to go! I love Way Beyond Bagels! They are always fresh with that crispy outside I love and baked in the old school NY way! Try them… you will be back for more.

Maplewood bagel is located in Jupiter, their products are always fresh whether its the breakfast or lunch menu, anything you get there is fantastic and their prices are fair for a local business. A few times I’ve gone in there and the line was almost to the door, but with the amount of people waiting they are amazingly fast with the service. And I’m pretty sure they have yet to mess up on a single order I’ve placed, unlike some other companies I’ve ordered from in the past.

I would prefer to shop at this type of store then a major chain and I wish more people felt the same. Their service is wonderful and I’m in there at least 2-3 weeks for almost a year now. Support our local businesses, especially ones like this that are worth keeping around!!!!

My only suggestion would be that I wished they delivered, even without this perk, it’s worth it to take a quick break and drive up the block to grab a bite to eat.

Best of luck Maplewood, see ya next week for my bagel fix!!
Plain bagel cut dry not toasted, plus the other office orders. lol :)

Maplewood in Jupiter is the best! I’m in there everyday because the food, coffee and desserts are the best around. No corporate bagels- support local business owners and check it out!!

    Great customer service always!

  6. Paul says:

I have eaten at a majority of these establishments and there are a lot of great shops on this list.

First Place: Out of all of these hot spots, my personal favorite is Bagel Boyz. Along with their bagels, which I find to be quite phenomenal, their prices are also amazing. One of the best food-to-price ratios I have seen in South Florida. Keep up the good work Bagel Boyz!

Second Place: Way Beyond Bagels is very good as well. Good quality bagels and good prices.

    Honorable Mention: Strathmore Bagels.

Maplewood Bagel is the place to go in Jupiter – behind Home Depot on Maplewood Drive. Great Music, friendly people, great grill man Gus, nice atmosphere, inside and outside seating. And on top of all that they have great bagels. too! No skimping on the poppy seeds there and the spreads are all homemade. Stop in and you’ll find fast service, lots and lots of drink selections and great tastes. BBNODR.

  10. Jim says:

Maplewood Bagels are the BEST. Absolutely the best bagels and customer service in Palm Beach county. The bagels are made the old fashioned way, kettle boiled, and are unbelievable. The first time you walk through the door you become an instant friend of Eric, the owner, and are treated like one of the family. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

  11. Southern Bagel says:

I have to say Bagel Boyz is not only the most popular bagel, but the most popular bagel shop. I’ve never been there without there being a line to the door. Their breakfast is the best breakfast in Pslm Beach County; I’ve tried them all! The line may be long, but you can’t find breakfast as good or as fast as bagel Boyz serves it!

Ever ask yourself why you’re standing in that line?? Because Bagel Boyz is AWESOME!!

    See you guys tomorrow morning!

  12. Happy Bagel says:

Bagel Boyz you make me smile. I love this place! It feels like home and tastes like heaven :)

Best bagel around. You can’t beat this place for friendly atmosphere and quick service.
