UPDATE: Write-in votes a-plenty — we’ve added four new places to the poll: Baja Cafe, Boca Raton; Rancho Chico, Jupiter/Tequesta; Burrito Brothers, Jupiter, and Taco Vida, West Palm Beach.
UPDATE AGAIN: Added Guacamole’s, Jupiter.
The burrito — It’s all of the food groups under one roof. Er, tortilla.
But making a burrito properly, and with the right ingredients, takes a certain amount of skill.
We want to know who makes your favorite burrito in Palm Beach County — and we’ve got a lot of choices.
However, if you don’t see your favorite on our list, click “other” and contribute a write-in vote. If we get enough, we’ll add that choice to the poll.
We’ll let you know the results on Monday.

Baja Cafe’s Rosarita burrito is my favorite!
Also used to love the Sublime veggie burrito at Cabo Flats. They’ll still make it for you if you ask, even though they took if off the menu, but the last time I got it it wasn’t as good as it used to be.
Cabo Flats has terrible food…do not waste your dining dollars at this place.
TACOS AL CARBON GOT IT LOCKED DOWN. THER BURRITOS ARE THE BOMB TRY THER BARBACOBA WIT CORN TORTILLAS AND BEANS AND RICE TRU MEXICAN COOKING AT ITS BEST
Very good inquiry. Florida lags LA and the Bay Area significantly where they have lines around the block at the best burrito stands.
That’s true, Stuart. But let’s face it, the area between California and Texas is basically the world capital of burritos.
I don’t know the name of the place, but it is west on Lake Worth Road between Military and Jog on the North side of the road. Not much english spoken in there, but the best freshest burrito and at a very inexpensive price.
The truck at the junkyard on Benoist Farms makes a great Lengue burrito as well.
Don’t waste your time on a cabo flats burrito. It might be the worst burrito in the county.
I agree with Jerry above. If you haven’t tried Taco al Carbon, you’re missing out.
Taco Al Carbon’s food is fantastic! Love this food….
Anitas has the best local burrito….true California style!!!! It is on Okeechobee Blvd south side of the street a 1/4 mile west of 95.
Frank! I think you are thinking of Aleyda’s??
Aside from Taco al Carbon which has great street food, Montezuma and Zapata are 2 excellent real deal Mexican joints. Try the al pastor taco at Montezuma or a tamale at either place.
Totally sucks that the Post puts chain restaurants in these polls. Moe’s and Chipotle will get the most votes because they have more locations and because people go there because they know the name, but support some Palm Beach County businesses!
Tacos al Carbon all the way! 24 hours! Yay burritos!
Hi Becca. Some people just like going to chain restaurants, so we didn’t want to leave them out.
My hope with these polls is that maybe a few people who don’t know about these out-of-the-way favorites might seek them out… I agree with you — it’s always good to support your local businesses, and you can find some awesome food (or merchandise, etc.) if you seek it out.
You beat me to it! I was going to say the same thing! Almost exactly what you said!! Nothing beats a “home made burrito” One that doesn’t come with “directions” on how to make it :)
Who are these people voting for Chipotle? That’s like voting McDonalds for best burger in town, or hell Wal-Mart as your favorite clothing store.
I suspect that the people who say they favor these chain restaurants aren’t the type to go out and find real good food, instead just something cheap and close by.
As someone who has eaten at all but a couple of these places, and a lover of spicy foods in general, Tacos Al Carbon is hands-down #1.
Chipotle is no McDonald’s, La Migra. I can see not wanting to vote for a chain over a local spot, but the food at Chipotle is fresh and excellent.
NOT Mentioned, I voted for RANCHO CHICO in Tequesta, Fl as my choice for BEST Burrito!
Chris: Just added Rancho Chico. And we’ll include your write-in vote for it (along with everyone else’s)…
I like Moes because you construct your own. They have two sizes of tortilla wraps, and a choice of white or whole wheat, alway warm and soft. There’s no excuse for a bad burrito when you can chose from the many ingredients and salsas.
That being said, I like smaller ones, made with soft steamed corn tortillas… more of an authentic taco, made at home. I put in refritos, crumbly fresca cheese, pickled jalapenos, shredded chicken, lettuce, tomato and top with a smear of guacamole. Yum.
Also not mentioned is Guacamole in Jupiter on Indiantown just west of I-95. It is a small dive with plastic tables and chairs but it is real deal Mexican food. Ceviche, al pastor, corn husk wrapped tamales, lengua, tripe, menudo, and all of the authentic offerings. It is much closer to me than Tacos al Carbon and just as good. Their chiptotle red salsa and creamy green goes well on anything they have.
Chipotle and Moe’s are the fast food of burrito joints in comparison to the authentic places mentioned. Actually, McDonald’s had a financial interest in Chiptole at one time but no longer I believe. They were not involved in the operation of the business though. Moe’s was started by Raving Brands from Hotlanta and was sold to Carvelle’s parent company.
