MENU

For a place known more as a nightspot than eatery, The Cottage offers a surprising array of gourmet dining options. Think filet mignon kebabs, racks of lamb and tilapia. Simpler options such as sandwiches, salads and pitettaz, pita breads topped with various toppings, are also offered.

ATMOSPHERE

The Cottage has become one of downtown Lake Worth’s most chic nightspots. Elegant-looking men and women sip cocktails on the large patio while a DJ mixes and old movies play silently on an overhead projector. This place gets crowded on weekends and can be noisy late on weeknights as well.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

I enjoyed the grilled black salmon ($15.95), a spicy fillet served with jasmine rice, peach salsa and vegetables. My guest loved her New York strip steak ($21.95).

REASON TO GO

For a hip dinner-and-drinks outing in downtown Lake Worth, The Cottage is tough to beat. Come to see and be seen and soak in the atmosphere.

SERVICE

The dinner crowd is light on weekends and our waitress was free to attend to us frequently.

NOISE LEVEL

About 9 p.m., the moderate music playing on the patio was replaced by a loud DJ whose mix gave the locale a nightclub feel.

KID FRIENDLY

Get a sitter if you’re heading here. The loud music and alcohol don’t make an ideal atmosphere for children.
