If you are downtown on Thursday, June 11, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Mayor Lois Frankel will buy you Chick-fil-A lunch.

Actually, Chick-fil-A at Okeechobee and the Turnpike is buying, and you have to be one of the first 5,000 people in line at 401 Clematis Street, which is the New City Center.

There will be music in the courtyard, tours of city hall and the new library.

Chick-fil-A at Okeechobee and the Turnpike wil have its grand opening June 18.

On a related note, Chick-fil-A now has peach shakes, special for summer.

    I LOVE Chick-Fil-A!!!!

  2. Steve Maduri says:

Does Frankel want to buy lunch for n.o.w? or how?

  3. lovetheMEG says:

I love chick fil-a also but give me the money instead….

  4. ithought says:

I thought the city didn’t have any money

THE HECK WITH LUNCH WE NEED THE $$$$$$$$ JUST SEND US A CHECK AND THAT WILL BE PERFECT.

  6. Ed says:

Why isnt the Chick-Fil-A opening IN city center, the city could get rent and downtown a decent fast food joint. Who cares about the Turnpike and Okeechobee thats not even in the city limits I dont think

  7. FSUMan says:

Chick-fil-A is donating all the food — they’ve also given 2,000 sandwiches to local homeless shelters this week and are giving 1,500 to youth camps next week.

Is The Post telling us the truth?

Is she spending her OWN money? Of course not.

Why does The Post have to use a blatant lie in their headline?

Because that’s what they’re known for.

  9. Faker says:

So Lois Frankel is buying us all lunch……5,000 people at $7 each average ticket is $35,000.

Out of her own pocket? How nice.

    NOT!

You can bet either Chick Fil A is paying this to promote a new store opening at the turnpike or worse, WE are paying for our own lunch from the City Tax rolls!

    Which is it?

I cannot believe she is taking PERSONAL credit for this…….If she is, what a perfectly slimeball move.

Anything to look good after the City Hall Disaster followed by the Breisenmeister CRA with Pompano Beach SCAM!

I hope Lois is buying all of us lunch on her own dime.

But I would bet she’s not……I would bet she is just muscling in to take the credit and the limelight for something she is not really paying for…..what a joke.

C’MON GiVE HER A BREAK IF YOU DONT WANT iT DONT G0 ITS F0R THE KiDS ENJ0Y iT OR SHUT UP !!

  11. Cecelia says:

HELLO–obviously it isn’t the mayor’s money, OR even the city’s! Chick-fil-a is sponsering the ‘lunch with the mayor’ event to promote their upcoming store opening.

  12. bball says:

Mayor Frankel didn’t pay any $ for the lunch. Chick-fil-a donated all of the sandwiches, so the meal didn’t cost the city anything.
    Don’t worry….

    :)

It was just a way for the new Chick-fil-a to get it’s name out.

  13. Thanks for your sharing. There are not much sites outthere have such useful source of information like this one. Thanks again because it’s very not easy to see something similar.
