My search for the perfect place to watch Baltimore Ravens games has landed Fiancé Guy and me in Juno Beach, at a lovely little slice of seafood and sports called Kirby’s.

Apparently, the original restaurant is in Ocean City, Md. (or “down the ocean,” as we Marylanders say), and one of the owners decided to set up an outpost in Florida. It’s become the unofficial place for fans of the purple and gold to gather, and it’s now one of my favorite places to eat Maryland crab soup (so spicy and hot).

They’re so good with the Old Bay seasoning there, you could make a delicious meal just off the seasoned onions that come with the steamed shrimp. There’s no place like home away from home!

Kirby’s Pub Grille and Raw Bar, 841 Donald Ross Road, Juno Beach. 637-8000.

  1. JimC says:

Not much of a restaurant review.

  2. It’s not meant to be a complete review: It runs in print as a brief column called “That Girl,” which is sometimes about food, sometimes about drinking, sometimes about entertainment and often just about the scene.

    The crabcakes are amazing, though!
