Girls of all ages will gather to gaze upon “Barbie: The Golden Anniversary” exhibit, which showcases one of the most popular toys ever made, the Barbie doll.

Barbie celebrated her 50th birthday in March, and this exhibit will showcase more than 500 vintage Barbie dolls, friends, family members and accessories.

Barbie Millicent Roberts was introduced to girls in 1959 at the American Toy Fair in New York City. Since then, she’s had more than 108 careers, been in the Navy and Army and been a presidential candidate.
Some of the vintage dolls on display include the original 1959 Barbie Doll, which sold for $3, Bubble Hairdo Barbie (1964), 1970s Malibu Barbie and accessories, NASCAR Barbie, Space Camp Barbie and Miss America Barbie. International dolls include Peruvian, Australian, Morocco, and Switzerland Barbies.

AES Interiors of Delray Beach created the hot pink and a zebra print décor, and mural artist Jodi Lee was commissioned to paint the interior design. Sketches of clothes by students from Miami International University will also be displayed.
