The Visiting Nurse Association Air Show is ready to barrel roll its way back into Witham Field for a two-day aerial spectacle Nov. 14-15.
The event in Stuart entering its 19th year will light up the Friday and Saturday skies with performances and maneuvers from the best in the air stunt business, and pepper the Witham Field grounds with high-end and historic aircrafts for an up-close look.
“We’ve added a lot this year,” said Dan Crow, air show coordinator. “We’ve got a range of aircrafts on the ground, and some new vendors and new folks involved. We have a flyover by a T-38 crew and one of the largest aircrafts to land at Witham Field coming in — the C-17.”
The acts range from deft-defying — like Rob Holland’s MX2 and its 400-degree-per-second rolling capability — to inspiring — like paralyzed stunt man Dan Buchanan who hang glides up to 1,800 feet high.
And whether it’s with World War II aircrafts or new-age aerobatics, thousand-foot-away flyovers or up-close handshakes with pilots, the 2009 rendition of the air show promises to please by highlighting flight in grand fashion.
