Comic books featuring Iron Man and Superman will be available for free.

As the movie-going masses wait for the second Iron Man movie, which opens May 7, his comic’s fans get a special treat on Saturday.

As part of Free Comic Book Day, Marvel is giving away an issue teaming Iron Man with his longtime ally, Thor, as they try to keep mega-billionaires from threatening both the earth and the moon.

It’s all part of this special day for comic book and graphic novel fans which began in 2002 as a thank-you from stores, publishers and others. Among the stores participating this year is Past Present Future in suburban West Palm Beach, Collector’s Comics in Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce’s Big Dog Comics.

Past Present Future will also be featuring artists from around the area and state as part of their celebration, including talent from Lake Worth-based Cosmic Times, home of “Arthur: The Legend Continues”.

Other comics being made available include DC’s War of the Supermen, where Superman is the only thing that stands between Earth and an army of supermen; Dark Horse’s Doctor Solar/Magnus team-up; Archie Comics’ Archie’s Summer Splash; and Kizoic’s Shrek.

Past Present Future is located at 1387 Military Trail.
