Two stars — one from the baseketball court, the other from reality TV — will add to the twinkling lights of the 2009 Winterfest Boat Parade on Dec. 12.

Alonzo Mourning and Kim Kardashian have been tapped as co-grand marshals of the annual event sponsored by the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. This will be the 38th year that corporate and private boats decorated with holiday whimsy, including lights, snowmen and surfing Santas, set sail down the New River.

The theme is “That’s Entertainment.” Boat owners are encouraged to transform their vessels into floating theaters.

Tribe councilman Max Osceola will be the new chairman of the Winterfest board of directors, and Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler will be a parade judge.
