ORLANDO, Fla. — An Orlando woman told a British tabloid she had an intense affair with Tiger Woods after meeting him at a local Perkins restaurant she managed near his Isleworth mansion.
Mindy Lawton, 33, told News of the World the affair started in May 2006, after Woods invited her to drink in a VIP area of The Blue Martini at Orlando’s Mall at Millenia.

“I was so excited I was going to have a drink with Tiger Woods,” Lawton told the tabloid. “I knew he was married, but whenever he had come into the restaurant with his wife he looked so miserable. They didn’t talk and never held hands.”
Lawton claims she initially didn’t know Woods’ invitation to get a drink would turn into an affair, but by the end of the night it was clear he wanted more than a friendly drink when the legendary golfer told her she “looked hot” and brought her home to his Isleworth mansion.
Their sexual relationship lasted for a year, Lawton told the tabloid, until he left her for LA cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs, who released the now infamous alleged voicemail from Woods, asking her to help cover up their relationship and also apparently prompting Woods to release a statement apologizing for his “transgressions.”
“I regret those transgressions with all of my heart,” read part of that statement.
Woods added: “For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.”
Woods and his wife are reportedly undergoing marriage counseling and renegotiating her prenuptial agreement in an attempt to save their marriage.
