Michael Lohan was in attendance on Saturday at Passion night club's celebrity boxing night, but the main attraction, Jose Canseco, was a no-show. (Veda Jo Jenkins / sflimages.com)
The music was playing “we will rock you” as Billy Padden danced around the ring and the crowd awaited the headliner of the night Jose Canseco to take to the ring but he never appeared.
For promoter Damon Feldman things couldn’t have been worse.
In a long, drawn-out event at the Passion night club in the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, fans who mostly backed Padden, a South Florida celebrity trainer, were incredibly disappointed when Canseco didn’t even make an appearance. There was speculation as to why. Not a big enough draw at the door? Bar revenues were low? Was Jose even there or was the person people thought they saw really his twin brother Ozzie? But hey, Michael Lohan was there!
Forget Lohan, there were other true heavyweight champions in the house. Jason Gavern, the WBC heavyweight champion, was there and will be fighting a “real” match on April 2 at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter. Gavern trains in West Palm Beach and will be defending his title.

So why is a nightclub doing this in the first place? Is it a new way to bring in customers in a very competitive market? I thought it was creative and had Canseco delivered those in attendance wouldn’t have left with a sour taste in their mouth, which also reflects on the Passion nightclub and celebrity boxing matches.
It’s really too bad because the night was actually pretty entertaining. Starting off the night, International Wrestling Champion “Maximum Capacity” took on Jordan “Bam Bam” Rayner. With Capacity coming in at over 500+ pounds and Rayner at 300+ the two were quite the scene, playing out the usual antics one sees at WWF wrestling matches, knocking out the referee, but no, they didn’t use the chair!
From there, female boxers using oversized gloves duking it out entertained the crowd. Devon James, known in the public eye as Tiger Woods’ mistress, even took a couple rounds of punching but it was her opponent Jessica French dressed in skimpy shorts and top that had the men watching.
There was also a real boxing match with Lohan coaching his opponent in the corner and just when the stage was quiet, surprise, “Here comes the ‘Beast’!” in another round of wrestling. The crowd was into it.
It was such a deflating way to end the night with Padden in the ring and Canseco not appearing. Feldman didn’t know what to say as he addressed the crowd telling everyone he was sorry and that their tickets would be good for their next event.

Celebrity jail mugs
At least Billy Padden was dancing. Go Billy !!
The promoter was DAMON Feldman, not David.
Is this REALLY a surprise? NOPE! Devon James didn’t pass her physical in New Jersey last July, Rodney King never made it to Massachusetts, Mike Lohan didn’t make it to Massachusetts either…Damon creates this sh*t all for show and NEVER delivers on it!!!
They were charging $20 more for tickets at the door, whats wrong with that? They were charging customers who had already PAID in full, in advance to pick up the tickets at the “will call” box, more people walked away in disgust and anger than came in to see the fight. There wasn’t 400 in attendance either, barely 150 and that’s counting staff and the people waiting in line at the door who ended up walking away. Devon James needs to go back to rehab too btw, she could barely keep her eyes open before or after the fight, she was on cloud trash. I feel sorry for Tiger or anyone else for that matter, if in fact there was ever any connection…
Very good info. Lucky me I found your blog by accident (stumbleupon). I’ve saved it for later!
