“I hope we decide who gets the Emmy by a series of high-pressure penalty kicks, just like the World Cup.” — Amy Poehler, nominated for lead actress in a comedy series for “Parks and Recreation.”

“Is it weird that I’m having champagne and eggs right now?” — Walton Goggins, nominated for supporting actor in a drama series for FX’s “Justified.”

“This is my first time to hear it from New York, and I have to tell you, what a civilized way to hear about the nominations, after 8 a.m. I was showered already.
