The Screenvision Programming Network brings the mecca of comedy to South Florida via Stand-Up 360, a unique film series showing tonight through August.

The collection consists of seven stand-up comedy features filmed live at Broadway Comedy Club in New York, N.Y. The first edition, hosted by Caroline Rhea, launches tonight at Muvico Parisian 20 at CityPlace in West Palm Beach and Thursday at Rave St. Lucie West 14 in Port St. Lucie.

“Screenvision came up with the idea to film live events such as the World Series and Metropolitan Opera and bring them to a whole new audience,” said comedian Erik Rivera, featured performer in Stand-Up 360: Edition 1 and host of Stand-Up 360: Muy Caliente. “Not everyone can afford a plane ticket to New York to see these events.”

The tradition continues with Stand-Up 360, bringing a taste of Big Apple comedy minus the big price tag. Rivera is joined in the series by 40 top headliners and breakout comedians, including Godfrey, Judy Gold and Rhea. The series also features Last Comic Standing finalists Roz, Rich Vos, Adam Hunter, Michele Balan and Esther Ku, among others.

“These films show everyone that stand-up comedy is an art form,” Rivera said. “You’ll also see what goes on backstage and the camaraderie between the comedians.”

Rivera recently performed with Robert Kelly at the Miami Improv and wants to tour South Florida again soon. Until then, catch Rivera, Rhea and 40 more of New York’s best in Stand-Up 360.
