Wedding movies are at the top of my guilty pleasures list — followed closely by Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food and bad reality TV shows. (Come to think of it, are there good ones?)

Since my fiancé and I announced our engagement, my girlfriends have been encouraging my wedding movie addiction.

“We have to watch 27 Dresses!” they gushed.

We did, and it was adorable. But was it adorable enough?

Here, I propose a list: The Top 10 Movies To Watch With Your Bridesmaids. (These are in chronological order.)

1. The Philadelphia Story (1940) — Katharine Hepburn plays Tracy Lord, a Philadelphia heiress about to marry a coal mining executive. Cary Grant portrays a reporter for Spy Magazine who plans to break a story by gaining access to the wedding.

2. It Had To Be You (1947) — Ginger Rogers gets cold feet until fireman Cornel Wilde appears.

3. Father of The Bride (1950; 1991) — Spencer Tracy starred in the original Academy Award-nominated film and Steve Martin added his comic spin in 1991.

4. The Princess Bride (1987) — A hilarious and fantastical trip into a fairy tale with Cary Elwes and Robin Wright.

5. Four Weddings and A Funeral (1994) — Hugh Grant stars as a British bachelor with a colorful romantic background, who meets his dream girl (Andie MacDowell) at a friend’s wedding.

6. Muriel’s Wedding (1994) — Muriel (Toni Collete) goes on an amusing and desperate journey to find a husband.

7. My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997) — Julianne (Julia Roberts) falls in love with her best friend … who happens to be someone else’s groom.

8. The Wedding Singer (1998) — New Jersey wedding crooner Robbie Hart (Adam Sandler) loses all hope after being abandoned at the altar by his fiancée. That is, until he meets Julia (Drew Barrymore).

9. My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002) — The chronicles of Toula (Nia Vardalos) and her big fat interfering Greek family.

10. Wedding Crashers (2005) — A comedy starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson with enough bromance and romance for groomsmen and bridesmaids alike.
