What if we as a nation came to realize that the quest for empire eventually destroys all great nations?

i know it's just one person's opinion, but i am absolutely shocked to see John Wesley Harding down at 13 - it's always been unquestionably a top 5 for me. And i think once a couple of years have passed, the author will reconsider ranking Together Through Life above Planet Waves and Street-Legal.

Personally, I'd put Together Through Life down in the low 20s - nothing too terribly memorable, lazy writing (at best), and nothing transcendent and uniquely Dylan about it.

I agree a hundred percent with the top six. However, "John Wesley Hardin" and "The Basement Tapes" need to be in the top ten. you can also make a case that Infidels should be far higher."Street Legal" does not belong in the top twenty- let alone be listed as dylan's best. Though you can make a case, that songs like "Caribbean wind", "Blind willie mctell" and "Groom still waiting at the alter" that were deleted from the original-compromised what could have been a great record.

No, not quite. Dylan's top 3 albums are 'Street Legal', 'Blood on the Tracks', and 'Oh Mercy'. Why on earth this person has SL at #20, and OM at #12 is beyond me, but those are way off from where I would have placed them, respectively speaking.

Anyway, rounding out my "Top 5" ranking would most likely be 'Desire', and 'Bringing it All Back Home', both of which he gave pretty fair rankings to (at #'s 7 & 4).
