I’ve covered concerts in all sorts of venues before — sports stadiums, old movie houses, restaurants, dank dives.

Going online to see a show would be a new experience for me.

Beginning at 4 p.m. today, Metaplace, a new virtual world, will be the host site for a four-act show. It has already been on the worlds of Second Life and Reaction Grid, and the “tour” will wrap up on another virtual world, Twinity.

Among the acts playing will be DJ Doubledown Tandino, aka West Palm Beach’s Brad Reason. His avatar will be performing the music, and the voices are in real time.

Also appearing are Grace McDunnough, Slim Warrior and Dizzy Banjo.

It’ll be interesting to see how this turns out — I’m curious if this will be a new way of breaking music to the public.
