I saw the Victory Tour in South Florida and it was absolutely amazing. Even those who were not “fans” of the Jacksons, left with their mouths open. Incredible performance, left us all mesmerized. I’ve seen many, many live acts and the two most memorable were the Jacksons and Tina Turner. Good Speed Michael.

  2. Birdie says:

An amazing performance!!! Talked about it for months and of course bought the album. I’ve never seen anything since that compares to that night in the Orange Bowl. RIP Michael

  3. Linda says:

I moved to FL in 1983. I went to see the Victory Tour at the Orange Bowl in 1984 and it was great. I think it was one of the first dates with my now ex-husband. We had a great time and we went with another couple who were friends of ours. I was very impressed with the show but not so much with the Orange Bowl. For years, I heard about the Orange Bowl while I was living in NY. I guess I expected something like Shea or Yankee Stadium.

  4. Heidi Bell says:

Will there be a local memorial gathering? Perhaps downtown West Palm?

  5. Carl says:

I was there in Houston! I had the glove and a thriller jacket on my grandma bought me…..LOL… Michael was my childhood idol. I can say I saw the King of pop on stage…. We will miss u MJ!

  6. Joh says:

I remember that the South Florida show was not annouced at the onset of the tour just Jacksonville. After seeing the show in Jacksonville I learned he was coming to South Florida. I couldn’t believe it when my family agreed to go again to see Victory in Miami. It was the show of all shows! Michael was a true performer! This loss is unexplainable! “it cuts like a knife” He’s out of my life… Truly “Gone too soon!!!” RIF Love Always

I remember driving from Ft Lauderdale to Jacksonville to see the Jacksons, it was such a great experience I went to the Orange Bowl concert also. I few years later I was walking around EPCOT with my family when an entourage was walking towards us. As they got closer we could see Michael Jackson walking in the middle of the crowd. My sister-in-law actually walked up to him and got him to autograph a dollar bill ( she didnt have any paper)

  8. Julie says:

I drove up from Central Florida to see the Victory Tour in Jacksonville July 1984, the absolute most AWESOME concert I have ever seen. I am 48, when all other ten year olds were crushing on David Cassidy and Donnie Osmond, I was crushing on Michael Jackson and I have followed him ever since. His passing has left a deep hole in my heart. I find solace in knowing that he is finally at peace and no longer has to suffer the harsh treatment he received on this earth. God and his angels are dancing……RIP MJ…you will be missed but never forgotten.

I totally agree. MJ is now in a much kinder and gentler place. The media and the world was cruel and harsh to him. He has been entertained the world for over 40 years. To all those who had the priviledge to have been to his concerts, you guys were blessed. I lived in too small a town that I dreamt to have this chance.

RIP Michael, all your fans will miss you forever!

I will be 57 in November, and I am PROUD to say that I was priveledged to have seen this show at the Gator Bowl in Jacsonville, Fla.!! I had promised myself a loooonnng time ago that if I ever had a chance to see Michael Jackson perform I was definitely going to. It was the most awesome show, and sadly the Gator Bowl is gone and now, tragically, so is one of the greatest performers of all time. My prayers go out to his children, parents and his siblings. This is a loss, obviously, to all of us.

  10. Jacquie says:

I attended the Victory in Jacksonville FL, and I was so amazed that I had to take my family when the tour came to Miami. It was the most amazing thing that I have ever seen. I will truly miss Michael.

  11. Paulet says:

I was at the 1984 Victory Tour in Jacksonville, FL. I won tickets on the radio, it was one of the most exciting moments of my life!! The concert was awesome!!!

  12. Gil says:

I was at the Jacksonville show in ’84 and I will never forget it. I was 10 yrs old and went with a girl-friend of mine and her parents. Her mom moussed my hair back and I had my own glitter glove and matching socks to boot. That and seeing Nirvana 10 yrs later in Lakeland were the most amazing concerts I’ve attended to date.

  13. Tara says:

Just a correction. That is Marlon Jackon on the left , not Jackie.

  14. Guest says:

You were all very lucky people. Wow!

  15. Gilbert Albright says:

The Victory Tour concert scheduled for JFK Stadium in Saturday Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA September 29, 1984 was canceled due to heavy rains and electrical generator problems.

I attended the concert which took place the next night on Sunday September 30th 1984

I had a ground level seat close to the stage and had to stand my seat the entire show because nobody would sit down.
