Clarence Clemons, Bruce SpringsteenThere’s this local band. Guitarist has a house out in Wellington. Sax player lives up on Singer Island. They’re pretty good. They’ve done a bunch of concerts. Even sold a few albums. You might have heard of them.

Yeah, we’re talking about Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

They might hail from Jersey, but they’re locals now. Springsteen, who resides part-time with the horsey set out in Wellington, and Singer Island’s Big Man, Clarence Clemons, plus the rest of the E Streeters are coming to the BankAtlantic Center on Sept. 13.

The web site, springsteen.net, is reporting that tickets go on sale July 24 for the South Florida stop of the “Workin’ On A Dream” tour. The band plays the Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa on Sept. 12.

The Boss made real estate news when he bought not one, but two Wellington multimillion-dollar homes last year. He’s here’s a lot because his daughter is a competitive horse rider. Just a couple months ago, Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa were seen shopping on Antique Row in West Palm Beach.

Clemons has been a longtime fixture on the local scene, but here’s something you might not know: He’s got a new memoir coming out in the fall. The title? What else: “Big Man.”

He has two houses in Wellington and several others around the world? Just like a Lear-jet liberal. He can keep his riches, but any one of us who would like to aspire and work hard towards his upper class must be stopped for the greater good of the poor and of course, the Earth.

    • The Capitalist says:

      Well said. I agree.

    • Maureen says:

So let me get this straight. You don’t aspire to be anything better than you can be, you don’t work hard, and becoming rich after working hard to get there is wrong? Are you one of the poor people out there that just sits back doing notbing so the rest of us can take care of you. So what Bruce is rich. Look at the music he makes and has sold over these many, many years. So what if he is political – that’s his right. And after so very many years of creating great music, touring, etc. he has not a thing to prove to anyone. He can sit back and make the kind of music he wants with whatever message he has to say. So, don’t listen to him, don’t go to his concerts.

  2. Teacher2 says:

Yeah, but he’a brought a lot of us a great deal of joy as we cruised down the boulevard.

  3. Chris Barca says:

I grew up idolizing Springsteen, but when he started shilling for radical liberals and letting politics color his music, I lost all respect for him. I could respect his stance on social issues that he often addressed, but becoming overtly political ruined this once great artist. I couldn’t possibly care less about him now. Besides, he hasn’t done anything worth listening to since “Darkness On The Edge of Town.”

  4. soma says:

Jack P sounds like another bitter white man. Don’t you have some Palin fluffing to get back too?

“Besides, he hasn’t done anything worth listening to since “Darkness On The Edge of Town.””

    this statementis just plain BS

  5. termack says:

Yea , the next thing you know he will be singing protest songs.

  6. The Capitalist says:

Springsteen and the rest of the liberal hollywood idiots are pulling the biggest lie over us. They NEED 12 Bentleys, and the family of 4 MUST pay $150 for movie tickets, but please help save AFRICA!!!!!

    • Jessica says:

O.k. people. If you don’t like what is going on, just don’t go to the concert. Apparently the E Street Band is doing something right if they are selling so many albums and filling up establishments for concerts! If you actually listen to the words of the songs, they are not all political. At least Bruce has the guts to take a stand for what he believes in! Rock on Bruce!!!

  7. think says:

Springsteen is an American icon and a folk singer as much as he is a rock star. It’s the nature of his music and his creative drive that compels him to express his views on society, culture, and politics in his music and in his statements.

If you were a multi-millionaire wouldn’t you support causes you believe in? We’re all entitled to our own opinions and are free to express them thanks to “liberals” like the founders of this country who saw fit to create laws that protect such freedoms. At the time proposals like the First Amendment were considered to be liberal.

He’s always been great, but I like Springsteen now more than ever. You cry babies can stay home. I’m going to the show!

  8. native says:

I grew up with him and could never understand what was so great about him. Even as an adult I still think his voice sux.

  9. Jim Vietman Vet says:

I agree with Jessica, if you don’t like him don’t go. Iv’e seen him before and he puts on a great show. By the way most people in this country agree with him. Check the last election. It’s too bad we’re talking politics and not music.

  10. Riv Goshen says:

Soma Jack P is entitled to his own opinion and thoughts… just as your entitled to call him a bitter white man. TAKE IT EASY BRO!

  11. Obama lover says:

I think Bruce is awesome! Why should he give up his nice things for the poor? That is what we have those other rich smucks for.

You know the ones I’m talking about. Yes the rich guys that risked everything to start a business to make 250k a year. We should stick it to those guys.

    Long live Obama!

I can’t wait until I am paying for everyone else’s healthcare. I mean it isn’t fair that we expect people to work for a living when all they want to do is sing Bruce sing.

    4 more years!

    4 more years!

Everyone join in. Yes even you rich guys.

  12. TAL says:

I never got the whole Boss thing – just never got into him.
