The show: “American Idols Live”
The venue: BankAtlantic Center, Sunrise, Wednesday night
The deal: The Top Ten Season 8 contestants: Michael Sarver, Megan Joy Corkrey, Scott MacIntyre, Lil Rounds, Anoop Desai, Matt Giraud, Allison Iraheta, Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen
Our take: Having read the reviews of previous tour stops of the Season 8 edition of “American Idols Live,” one could be forgiven for believing that every other singer besides second-place finisher but arguably first-place sensation Adam Lambert was a snooze. Boring. Nine also-rans in the shadow of a true performing genius. Adam and the Pussycats. Adam Jackson and the Jackson Nine.
Those reviews had a point: Theater vet, certified rock screamer and sensitive songsmith Lambert created a electrified, leather-bound, sexually-charged chemistry that none of the other Idols could match. The thing is, that doesn’t make the others, particularly impressive, smokey-voiced rock pixie Iraheta, acoustic, chill Allen and surprisingly satisfying former piano bar employee Matt Giraud, bad. They’re just different performers. Don’t get me wrong – if you’re most riveted by a big, big rock voice with flashy costume and sizzling slinkiness to match, Adam is your guy – he navigated easily between the flames of “Whole Lotta Love,” the moody poignance of “Mad World” and a punchy David Bowie medley, including a “Life On Mars” that gave me chills.
But what if you’re tastes run, say, more to the quietly brilliant acoustic (as mine admittedly do?) Then Kris Allen’s set, if curiously low-speed considering that the energy of Adam, might be more your cup of tea. Starting with his winningly creative “Heartless,” he impressed not only with a better-than-the-original “Bright Lights” but a chant-worthy, arm-waving take on The Killers’ “All These Things That I’ve Done” that amped the energy of the crowd to as close as Kris Allen comes to a frenzy. This is a not a frenzied man. He’s chill. He’s relaxed. He’s not in a hurry, because he’s having too good a time, and he’s hoping you do, too.
Besides the finalists, the two standouts were 17-year-old Iraheta, whose command of her voice, a by-now overdone cover (Heart’s “Barracuda”) and an audience continues to make me want to verify her birth certificate, and Giraud, who unfortunately became dismissed during the season as a Justin Timberlake wanna-be. Fie. Not true. He’d already proved he’s a competent piano man, so his “Georgia” was no surprise. But when he delivered a flawless “Hard To Handle” with effortless flights of phrasing and a crazy, Billy Joel-at-a-rave keys pounding session, it was a revelation. Somebody put this kid on a supporting tour as a solo act, now.
As for the rest: Gokey still has the gorgeous scratchy voice but wasn’t served by underwhelming song choice, except for a beautifully understated “What Hurts The Most”; Sarver reminded everyone of the talent that got him on the show but quickly became bland early in the season, while Corkrey displayed both her chops and her tendency to go pancake flat and thorn-sharp within the same phrase; Scott and Lil were so much more exciting than during the season, he making overplayed “A Thousand Miles” not only note-perfect but interesting and she sending the crowd to their feet with Alicia Keys’ “No One” that they made me want to shake them for being so bland on TV, and Anoop was his same slow-jamming, over-confident, Brian McKnight-channeling self.
It turned out to be a much better show than last year, where David Cook clearly outclassed pretty much everyone. Again, no one matched Adam’s showmanship. But if that’s not your thing, you had a lot more to choose from.

LOL Um, are you forgetting someone? ;)
GOKEY! Oh, dear. That’s what I get for writing this late. He’s in there now. And he is still talented, but I thought his songs were mostly boring. Not him, fundamentally, but the songs, which made him just…OK. He sure can sing, though.
OH MY,,,, OH YES…. OH DEAR> I forgot Danny Gokey???
Is it because you are tired, senile or gay Leslie? or just following some corporate conspiracy? How very cute !
Thank you for the review! I love reading your thoughts on Matt. I have always seen Matt more comparable to Billy Joel than Justin Tmberlake. Matt was never given enough credit. He is so amazingly talented!
When was Lambert a “Broadway vet”?
Nothing wrong with a review that gives everyone their props. Infact, that’s exactly the way it should be.
Whoops. Mispoke. He was in the L.A. and touring productions of Broadway hit “Wicked.” Will be clarified in the post. Thanks, guys.
Thank you Leslie for a wonderful review. I absolutely loved your take on the entire show and I happen to agree with you on everything. My tastes do run to Kris Allen and I also thought Matt G. was the surprise standout. I liked Danny Gokey as well, but you are right about his song choices.
Great review and spot on in my opinion.
Thanks again.
Nicely written. I do love Adam most and think that his talent is extraordinary and rare, but Kris and Allison were amazing (as they were on the show), and Matt really surprised me with how fantastic he was. No one was completely awful, but those 4 were a cut above.
Nicely balanced review – something for everyone. For me it’s the big big rock voice and chilling perfect vocals of Adam. I can’t get enough of Starlight.
I was at the Sunrise concert tonight with 5 others. Surprisingly, the audience age group varied greatly with a large amount of us over 40 and into the 60′s and 70′s. Adam was absolutely fantastic. He owned that stage. The screams were so loud, my ears still hurt. That boy can move those hips. So handsome and what a voice!! Some grandmas next to me told me he’s Elvis come back to life for them. Funny. We were never fans of Matt on the show, but he really impressed us tonight. Great showmanship and incredible pianist. I would go see his concert. Allison is also good. Lots of energy. Pretty enjoyable concert overall. Had a good time.
Leslie, what a great and balanced review. While I can appreciate Adam Lambert’s talent, he is not my cup of tea. I adore Kris Allen and loved that you were able to acknowledge not only Kris’ talent, but also the talent of other Idols, rather than focusing on only Adam. It was great that you could provide a more objective review of the concert. Thanks for sharing without being condescending or biased.
Adam was epiiiiiiiiiiic. His voice is UNREAL fgdshvdshvdfmhbghv. So out of this world and versatile. He’s sooo sweet, funny and warm in person but so not human on stage, it’s so cool lol.
Allison and Kris rocked too. And Matt’s an awesome pianist, wow.
BTW, I can’t believe Allison’s 17! She has so much swagger and raw talent and her voice is so refined for her age. Slowride was amazing!
While Adam is my favorite based on his out of this world vocals, style, and delivery, Kris, Allison, and Matt are right up there for me. Matt”s hard to handle won me over big time. He kills the piano! (good way) I definitely will be buying Adam’s CD(s) and would probably check out the other mentioned 3.
Great review. Adam is not my cup of tea, but I appreciate his talent. I’m a Kris fan, and I agree he’s brilliant, though not necessarily quiet, or acoustic (he played electric guitar on two songs). But coming after Adam he must seem quiet(er). Thanks also for questioning the other reviewers who want to make it all about Adam.
Fair and balanced review. I was at the concert last night and although Lambert and his powerful rock voice was my family’s “cup of tea” I can certainly appreciate the talents of the other performers.
Allen is understated and just fine but he just doesn’t shine for me with any semblence of the unique. Allison is a rocker in the making. Giraud is amazing on the piano and vocally he’s much better than I remember. This guy deserves a contract.
But there’s something about Lambert that makes you take notice from the moment he steps on stage and I think that’s what some of the other reviewers meant in their reviews. When he’s on you can’t look away, visually, lyrically, he’s a master. And his voice is so melodious at times, so rich and soaring, for a moment it’s easy to forget that it’s a human being singing.
Agreed, LawrenceE. There is something very, very special about Adam Lambert. I have not been able to “look away” since his San Francisco audition for American Idol. I have never, ever experienced this before with any of the Idol performers in all eight seasons. I will take that further and say that I have never experienced this with ANY performer that I have seen.
I agree that most….not all….of the other Idols on tour this summer deserve props for their performances.
EXACTLY! I read the same review and was very discussed, to say the least! All ten of them are very talented singers in their own way! I don’t know how that guy has a job writing reviews being so bias to one person….maybe he likes “more” than just his singing???!!!
Best AI review ever!!!
Props Leslie Gray Streeter
Spot on Leslie (as usual). Believe it or not I was SO pleasantly surprised by Michael and Lil (Single Ladies was gutsy). Not an Adam fan, but was happy to see him ease up and prance around a bit which made him less “phony” for me. Matt was awesome, Kris was adorable, talented and really showed his versatility, but ALLISON was the best of the night for me. That girl can sing and she looks beautiful.
Matt has been my favorite from the start. So to me not surprising that he did such an awesome job. I think he has been underrated throughout the idol season. Cannot wait to see him live in NJ!!! He is so truly talented, and to me much more talented than Justin Timberlake. Cannot wait to see his career soar!!! I’m so happy for him.
All the Idols are good in their own right and while I appreciate this review, for me, it’s all about Adam.
And Dan saying a reviewer likes “more than just his singing” would you have made that comment if the reviewer was female? Or if the reviwer was more positive towards Kris? Tsk…tsk.
GREAT review, nice work!!
I counted 10 mentioned in the article! Should there be more, Hanna?
I like the balance of this article. I’m a huge Adam fan, but also really appreciate Kris, Allison and Matt. They are all hugely talented!
And yes, GREAT REVIEW ~ I appreciated, more than anything, that it was NOT “all about Adam.” I especially LOVE KRIS and the surprise of the night, for me, was MATT. LOVED what he can do on that piano, and his voice is good too! I also liked ANOOP and DANNY’s voice is wonderful! Sorry, but I had to wear ear plugs during both Adam and Allison ~ I’m just NOT a rock fan! I attended the Tampa concert, and it was really GREAT!
Props to you for your sincerity and candor. We all love what we love be it Kris or Adam and being the great artists they are, they wont want it any other way. Thank you for your ingenuous sharing. It warms my heart and comforts me….i wont have the chance to watch the idols cos i’m 3 continents away so i soak up all the good stuff on the net.
You thought that Chikezie and Syesha Mercado were outstanding last year too. How short the memory, eh?

GOOD REVIEW- ADAM IS NOMERO UNO-NUMBER ONE; GOOD DANCER-GOOD SINGER-GOOD ATTITTUDE MR. PERFECT MAN A SIGNER AS WELL.THE REST OF THE SINGER IS OK /BUT ADAM LAMBERT VOICE IS UNUSUAL ONE.
I was at the show last night and it is nice that the writer is being kind to all the Idols. Judging by the audience reaction, Adam was the show. Everyone stood up from the moment he was on stage until his set concluded. Matt was much more impressive in person, but poor Kris, not only was he booed when mentioned by Allison, but also 15 to 20 percent of the audience left when he was performing. Kris hit an off key guitar note that could have caused deafness. The Kris’s set got the most applause when Adam returned to the stage during “Hey Jude”. My group was buying merchandise and was told by the vendors that Adam’s outsold all others combined. When we waited after the show for autographs, only Matt, Danny, Kris and Scott came out and people were talking about an Adam stalker in Tampa that was cause for concern and that he would no longer be coming out after the show. Has the press covered this?
Funny how every other person who has left a comment on this review has nothing but nice things to say about the reviewers fairness in giving props to all of the Idols. But then you have to go and turn it into a contest of who had the loudest screams, boos, etc. etc.
The competition is over. I know this may come as a shock to you but Adam and Kris (and the others) can coexist in the music world together and enjoy success despite the results of a television show. Instead of trying to tear the others down (not so subtlely), why don’t you focus on the fact that Adam has a CD coming out rather than worrying about who was more popular on tour? Because in the end, isn’t it all about the music anyway?
Hello Lorie, How did you get the precise number “15 to 20 percent of the audience left when he was performing?’ It’s really annoying to “create” some data bashing Kris in order to promote Adam.
That is why the haters/sore losers have been associated with Adam fans. Adam is not like that. You’re not doing Adam a favor.
This comment is so inaccurate and obviously made to tear down the others, specifically Kris, that it’s almost laughable. Good try, Lori, but guess what? I was also there. I was there at the buses in the afternoon when Kris and Matt came out to sign, I was there at the concert when all of the idols performed their hearts out and I was there at the end when EVERYONE but Adam came out (Kris said he was sick.) People sat down during any given performer, depending on their preference, including Adam. Jack asses also boo-ed depending upon their preference, including Adam. You may not have heard it, what with your selective hearing, but it was there. People don’t all have the same taste and that’s fine. The top ten are there for everyone to have a bit of what they like. This review is great because it took an effort to acknowledge everyone’s strengths. That’s not being kind, that’s being fair. You should try that next time.
Add Danny Gokey to that tear down line, and I will second that motion and emotion :<) It almost seems that there is a large media driven subtle, and not so subtle, PR hate campaign going on to influence the youth of this nation to think that liking Danny and Kris and some of the others is NOT cool, but liking Adam IS cool.
How insulting to suggest that people will actually not believe their own eyes, ears and hearts, when it comes to who they like or want to listen to.
Yeah I agree. Matt was definitely underrated during the whole Idol thing. Always luved his humble, genuine personality and great performances. Def thot Simon was 2 hard on him. Probably jealous cause Paula & Kara liked him so much. lol Go Matt!! Can’t wait 4 ur cd’s, album, etc. :-)
Thanks Lori 4 the update. I think Matt is the ONLY one who comes out EVERY time. Maybe i’m wrong & if i am sorry for misquoting. lol
great review but you forgot to mention Scott. He was such a big surprise to me and to many. He was the only one who did an introduction and talked a little bit, and he was even funny! I agree on the Matt thing, he is a good singer and an entertainer in a different way than Adam. And what can I say about this glittery alien from planet fierce? I absolutely adore him. Hes bright, hes handsome and he will be iconic. I have the pleasure of meeting him earlier on the day -at a meet & greet- and he was very sweet and soft spoken. I cant wait for his album and his SOLO CONCERT TOUR!!
Nice review. Thanks for adding Danny to it. Love his voice. Like to watch Adam in concert, hopefully movies but I can’t get enough of Danny’s soulfulness.
Nice writeup. I saw a snippet from Adam during AI in which he said that of all the contestants, he found Matt’s talent/skills/chops “intimidating”. Matt’s ease at handling Hard to Handle was the surprise highlight of the evening for me. The rest of the show was fantastic too!
I too was at the Sunrise concert and I completely agree with this review. Adam is hands down my favorite but Kris, Allison and matt rocked my face off too! IMO they could cut out the bottom five and just start with the top 5 and have a kick awesome concert..however, the bottom five were very entertaining too so maybe it’s good like it is.
I was impressed with them all on some level and just because Adam is the clear stand out doesn’t dminish the others contribution. They all did great.
Aw, the comments on this review are so sweet–everyone’s acknowledging that at least Adam, Kris, Allison, and Matt are really talented, if even if one or more of those are not their cup of tea.
I have to laugh when i see that typical list. Cute subtle hatchet job, yet once again, on Danny Gokey. Abuse by neglect LOL. I suppose you are suggesting that the American Idol show is a hoax, and the votes are totally bogus? Well if that is the case, then I suggest no one with any decency watch it next season. Danny actually was the only one that was never in the bottom three, which shows him to have a very large fan base. Especially when you take into consideration the caliber of people who vote for him do so honestly and are not driven and obsessed, which makes his vote totals, most probably more reliable than the other two. Remember that less than a million votes separated the three of them in the pre final show. That gave them all around 33 million votes. Which means that given the kind of genre and personal background that Danny and Kris have, that in the final it would have been 66 million strong for either of them, and only 33 million for Adam Lambert. The fact that insiders have reported that the vote was not even close for Adam and Kris, this is not so hard to believe. It could have gone either way had Danny Gokey’s voters been more obsessed or techy. Then Danny’s votes combined with Kris’ would have given him the AI Crown. Now the media articles are trying to portray him as ho hum, and fail to accurately report how enthusiastic a reception he gets both on and off the stage on tour, when looking at some of the video’s proves that not to be the case. Doesn’t it make you wonder just what is really going on here? BTW Danny Gokey had a sore throat the night of the show.
Dude, that’s a bit paranoid. This isn’t politics, there are no hatchet jobs. I just don’t happen to find Danny that interesting. If you do, good, enjoy.
And I’m not suggesting anything about the show–don’t really care at this point, my favorites are signed and doing well, which will hopefully continue–I’m just commenting that Adam, Kris, Allison, and Matt seem to be getting wide recognition as immensely talented, viable artists, even from people who don’t particularly love one or more of them. Calm down.
My 3 friends and I were at the show last night. The audience was cheering and screaming for all 10 rising stars because they were lovely. Different strokes for different folks.
My friends and I love Kris Allen’s musical stylings. Kris actually got audience frenzy when he sang his set like Leslie said. Kris appeared to enjoy his music as well as the audience. Ha ha ha Adam happen NOT to be our cup of tea, but we still gave him a well round applaud to be polite.
I object to Lori’s comment, still bitter …….
Right you are… If you watch the videos of Danny Gokey and some of the others, both on and off the stage, the applause and cheers certainly are as enthusiastic for these people than for Adam Lambert or anyone else. Wonder why the media is going all out to suggest otherwise.
It’s just killing you that not everyone is scared of homosexuality, isn’t it?
LOL Leslie, ….Adam Jackson and the Jackson Nine…I would not put adam in that big name. Reasons are: 1. He did not have a successful cd yet. 2. What contribution did he make for the mainstream music? And he lost the AI contest.
Overall the review is excellent. Thanks.
I think you may have missed the point……*
*the point being that she wasn’t comparing Adam to Michael Jackson.
Leslie: If you’re still looking at comments on this post, I have a quick question if you’d care to answer.
You’ve talked a lot about Adam’s theatricality and big voice and Kris’s interpretive skills and musicality. I know that Kris is your favorite (he’s my second favorite, or tied with Allison for second, as they are both awesome), and that you sometimes find Adam a little too theatrical (I don’t think I ever did, but different strokes and all that :) ), but do you think that Adam also has great interpretive skills and musicality? Because for me, that’s what I thought distinguished both Kris and Adam from the rest of the competition during the season: they made you really hear the lyrics and music of the song, they were very creative with how they played around with melodies (Kris using instruments and Adam using his voice), and they made the emotions of the songs deeply felt and complex. Allison was fantastic at this too, but obviously a few years behind these guys in development. Adam was my favorite mainly because of all the nuances and delicate, complex touches he put into his music and because I just felt the songs so intensely when he sang them, even more than with Kris. And just like I think that Kris doesn’t always get enough credit for how exciting a performer he actually is, I don’t think that Adam always gets enough credit for his musicality and interpretive skills because the focus is on how exciting and overwhelming his voice and performance skills are.
That was long-winded, but I’d be interested to know your thoughts.
Hi Kate, what an amazing PR job you have goning on there. Taking all the things said about Danny Gokey in the past and attributing them to Adam Lambert. Wow… Nice
Er….what? I was discussing Adam and Kris. They received a lot of praise during the course of the show for their musicality, creativity, and emotional power.
I didn’t find Danny particularly moving and I recall that one of the much-discussed problems with him during the season was that, despite his excellent voice, he didn’t have much nuance in his singing–but if you liked him, that’s fine. To each his own.
Also, Stan: your comments about how only gay people like Adam? That is homophobic bigotry. Unless you think that only black people can like black performers, or only white people can like white performers, or only women can like female performers, then you should see that straight people can love gay performers. Like, you know, Elton John and Freddy Mercury and quite a few others who’ve had some success. Seriously, it’s 2009. I thought homophobia went out of style with segregation.
Well except for the theatrical part, which is Adam Lambert’s very strong suit.
Putting it a bit more succinctly: there are a lot of people with huge and impressively rangy voices out there who just belt out songs and that’s it. That can be entertaining and great to listen to for a while, but it gets old and numbing pretty fast. Adam, I think, has the voice to do that, but his interpretive skills and musicality are what make him so unusual and great.
Also: I saw the concert in LA, and the 4 that you mentioned really stood out. I’d never even watched AI before this year, so it was interesting to see and hear them live.
According to you… people might go to a show (concert – whatever you want to call it) and not want to see a show? lol Too funny. Adam is AMAZING I saw him in AZ and the other contestants… and you were right it was the Adam Show! Great Review! :)
PhDude: I love Adam the most, but not every “show” has to be a rock concert. I’d love to see Bob Dylan in concert at some point, and he’s pretty darn low-key. It’s a show, just a different kind of show. Don’t be a jerk–not everyone has to like the same kind of music.
Great review. I appreciate you taking the time to acknowledge them all, as they work very hard at what they do. I was at the same concert and while I didn’t have the same exact experience, I can appreciate that the enjoyment of each set comes down to personal musical preference.
Every show has a star and supporting cast. Adam was the star of this show, everything else was warm milk.
If 15 to 20 percent of the audience left during Kris Allen’s performance there are a bunch of really rude, crass people who attended. He is a great performer and a wonderfully talented singer. I have been a fan of American Idol for all 8 seasons and have picked the winner correctly from the start of the show in six of the eight seasons including this year. My only misses were Jordin Sparks and Taylor Hicks. Kris Allen’s style is by far my favorite from season 8. I loved your review. I see nothing wrong with giving props to each of these ten singers who beat out tens of thousands of other wannabes to end up in the top 10. It is unfortunate that the Adam Lambert fans are so single minded and mean spirited that they cannot appreciate other voices and other styles. It is a huge turnoff for fans of the other talented contestants and will in the end cost Lambert album sales and potential fans by their rude, disrespectful behavior and comments.
Sharon: I doubt that rude fans will cost Adam any more than it will cost Kris to have some fans who make rude comments about how they’re glad that the good Christian won over the perverted gay guy. All these guys have rude fans, but if you look even at the comments on this article, most Adam fans are either enthusiastic or at least perfectly polite about Kris, and vice versa.
I agree. I think that it is beginning to be evident that if you are an Adam Lambert fan you are mean spirited, part of a gang, and most probably gay, or lying about not being gay. I think I will talk to my nieces and nephews about that.
I believe this 15-20% is a silly bluff from an over-the-top fan who obviously tried to put down Kris.
Kudzu, Adam is not the whole show for me or for many, many others. If I want Broadway, I’ll go to the theater. If I want Cabaret, I’ll go to see a Cabaret show. I don’t need or want the theatrical nonsense. Adam has a great voice and wonderful range. That I appreciate, but the rest (leather tails, guyliner, microphone stand posturing) puts me off. I much prefer Kris’s understated musical interpretation. Adam does not appeal to me. I bought a ticket for this show to see Kris primarily, Matt, Anoop, Scott, Allison, Lil,Danny, and Michael to a lesser extent but moreso than Adam. Plus, to the person who commented on standing and screaming for Adam, this is not a rock concert. Equating standing and shrieking with enjoying the music is a bit simplistic. I have enjoyed James Taylor, John Mayer, Dave Mathews, Billie Joel, and many others without feeling the need to stand and shriek. The reviewer here got it right. This is meant to be a concert with a variety of styles and voices. Something for everyone, and everyone is not an Adam fan. Thank goodness for the other voices.
I like Adam…I like his vocal skill and performance deliveration…to top it all Adam is the whole package as far as singing and performance are concerned.God bless Adam Lambert!!!!
I was at the concert last night in Sunrise and it was very clear that the “cup of tea” of choice was Adam Lambert. I am 40 years old and love all kinds of tea, as long as it is good, but some tea just leave a bitter taste in my mouth.
Over all I think the most improved from the TV to stage show were Lil and Matt. Lil has a voice and can work it on stage but I think during the show she was intimidated buy the judging and that held her back. I really enjoyed her live. She has a powerful voice and great energy. Matt really impressed me with “Hard to Handle.” It was one of the top songs of the night for me. He has a soulful voice and seemed so confident on stage and killed it on the piano. I would have to say that of any idol playing any instrument last night he was by far the best. He reminded me of a young Billy Joel and I am old enough to have seen a younger Billy Joel in concert. BTW Matt is also a very good looking guy in person.
Allison, well I already liked her but, Pink’s “So What” was not the best choice. It is a great song and Allison did great to get the crowd into it but it is also a very personal song to Pink. As much as I wanted to enjoy Alison, my mind kept going back to Pink’s video with her hubby. Its just this disconnect with Allison. I love her and her voice but the songs do not fit. She has the voice of an older woman but you just do not get that heart felt connection to the song because of the felling that she is not singing about what she has lived. Allison has the vocal chops she just needs songs from her heart.
Danny is a mixed bag of tricks. If anything he has the most discombobulated set of the night. He take you from Michael Jackson’s PYT to Santana’s Maria Maria and that is just his first 2 songs. I have to give it to him that he puts ever ounce of his energy into songs. He really wants to be on stage and for people to enjoy him. Just his desire makes me want to at least hear what he puts out after AI and if it is good I will buy it. Its just so far, hearing him in concert, all I could think is when Will Adam be on.
Then it was Adam! I was front row but section 9. I was on the floor but further from the stage then i wanted to be but also liked the fact that I was the first row in my section with a huge space to dance in front of me. I love great music and when it moves me I stand up and for Adams entire set I never sat down and when I looked around they were all standing up with me. Its just how Adam can bang out “Whole Lot of Love” and ever song after that. There was never a moment in Adams set that I ever felt like it was time to sit down. In Fact I always felt a need to stand.
Kris, well, He just proved that more people should really ask how votes are counted.
You sure write well. It almost sounds like you are an online media reporter. I say go for it !
Your comment tastes like a sour lemon juice that leaves a FUNNY taste in my mouth.
You musical training is in about 2nd or 3rd grade.
@Kerry A huge vote different separating the winner and runner-up was circling around the news media before the Title was announced. A recount would only embarrass the runner-up Adam Lambert.
Kerry, Could it POSSIBLY be that there is a large percentage of chemicaly excited fans that are enjoying the kick arse band, the exceptional lighting show ( much as the excitement of a good 4th of July fireworks display ) , the rock song itself, and all the hooplah surrounding the person singing the song ( such as being at a concert to begin with, and getting up with all the great music )..than the singer or his singing? Many of the old Rock front men were just part of the experience of the band, audio, lighting etc. When the fans cheered and went wild, they did so for all of it, not just the lead singer. I have to applaud the amazing talent of the American Idol band, even more so than I do the contestants.
Thanks for the review.I’ve always been a Kradam fan and I didn’t vote during the finals because I really like them both — their musical talent and their X-factor really stood out above the rest. But concert-wise, Adam is genuinely the showman.
Wow, why am I not surprised. Just another media cheerleader article to HYPE Adam Lambert into an icon for the souless generation , and a very subtle, very subtle PR hate job on Danny Gokey. Both in the article itself and in the comments section. and as usual, it seems that most comments generated by the PR paid haters themselves. I wonder what the Corporation sees that scares them so much, to go all out to influence the masses and place self doubt in Danny Gokey’s mind. It is going to be interesting to see if this comment is up there, most times online media sites don’t allow anything that speaks of the emporer lambert not wearing any clothes. Do our eyes and ears fail us, when we see videos showing some of the audience reaction to Danny Gokey, it is overwhelmingly strong and positive. Yet reading this post and some of the comments would have you feeling otherwise. Unbelieveable the emotional abuse, (sometimes orchestrated by neglect) and career assassination, that Danny Gokey has to take.
Why is it that most of these posts look identical to ones that have been left on UTUBE by a handful of gay entertainment media staff members. No wonder the papers are losing readership and going under. No one believes in anything they say anymore. So much BS. Could it possibly be that the people in the media have a large investment in making their sponsors think that people actually go online and read most of the articles and leave posts, so they spend their days and nights creating internally generated posts under multiple identies ? In looking at what is going on with this American Idol 2009 season, one has to wonder.
