If you’re buying tickets this weekend, it’s only going to seem like you woke up in 1975.
The two big shows going on sale are Alice Cooper, coming Oct. 3 to Pompano Beach Amphitheatre, and the Steve Miller Band, playing Nov. 17 at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood.
Cooper released his 25th album, Along Came A Spider, last year, and will be playing several songs from the record. Spider is a concept album built around the tale of a serial killer.
Miller and his band have already played one successful show down here — a spot closing out SunFest that was well-received. Miller mixes bluesy songs with his classic-rock hits.
Also on sale this weekend:
• Alternative-rockers The Bravery will play Fort Lauderdale’s Culture Room on Oct. 16.
• Thievery Corporation, who play something approaching a cross between hip-hop, trance, Middle Eastern and Indian music, will perform at the Fillmore Miami Beach on Oct. 9.
• Think Pink Rocks!, an annual festival for cancer research featuring Akon and Shontelle, hits Boca Raton’s Centre For the Arts at Mizner Park on Oct. 3.
• Industrial rockers Skinny Puppy will invade Revolution Live on Nov. 27.
• Goth/punk veterans The Misfits head to Culture Room on Dec. 4.
• Pop-punkers Boys Like Girls bring their show to Revolution Live on Nov. 5.
