Tickets for two major pop events go on sale this weekend.

Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour makes its way to Miami’s James L. Knight Center on New Year’s Eve. The tour, which was put together in the wake of a crumbling cross-country jaunt with Kanye West, begins in Montreal in November.

By herself, Lady Gaga has enough visual appeal and insanely catchy songs to do well on the road.

Tickets are on sale Friday.

The Y100 Jingle Ball, featuring Shakira, The Fray, Jordin Sparks, Flo Rida and more, will be held Dec. 12 at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise.

• Chilled-out surf guy Donavon Frankenreiter will play Fort Lauderdale’s Culture Room on Jan. 2, 2010.

• 1980s pop icon Lionel Richie will perform at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood on Dec. 13.
