Phish has decided to break in 2010 in style for the first time since 2003, and they’ve chosen Miami’s AmericanAirlines Arena as the venue.

The band, which reunited this year after a five-year layoff, will play four nights at the arena in Bayside – Dec. 28, 29, 30 and 31. The band had a tradition of playing a New Year’s show prior to their 2004 breakup. It will be the band’s first appearance in Florida since 2003.

Tickets for the show go on sale Nov. 21, but you can go to a special online-request site and order up to four tickets until Sunday.

According to the band’s Web site, Phish will play a three-set show on New Year’s Eve.

Since reconvening, Phish has had a superb year – they covered The Rolling Stones’ classic LP Exile on Main St. on Halloween at Festival 8 in Indio, Calif., reviving another band tradition of covering full albums on Oct. 31; they have a new LP, Joy, and they played a sold-out show at Boston’s Fenway Park.
