Nine times out of 10, rushing anything can be a bad idea.
But sometimes that tenth time works out. Such is the case with Creed.
Coming back together after five years apart in 2009, the band raced through recording their latest LP, Full Circle. And in this case, it worked.
“We got in there, and it was kind of a fire drill getting this record out,” said guitarist Mark Tremonti. “Everything was so new and exciting for us. In a perfect world, we would’ve had more time, but it turned out better with all of the energy we had.”
It allowed Creed — which plays Cruzan Amphitheatre on Aug. 31 — to get some songs out without overthinking things. It also further cemented the relationship Tremonti had with lead singer Scott Stapp.
“It was such a quick process,” Tremonti said. “The lyrical side and vocal side were happening as we were tracking, and we were all on the same page. Scott had tons of pages of lyrics and we’d go through them together and finalize them. It all worked out.”
As a result, Full Circle was hailed by more than a few critics as Creed’s strongest work, at least since My Own Prison, their 1997 debut.
The group’s fan base never wavered either, as Full Circle debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard album chart, right behind Michael Jackson’s This Is It. Tremonti also noted that they haven’t wavered at the band’s live shows either.
“It’s been very comfortable for us on stage,” he said. “The fans react the same way they did in years past.”
The band is also giving back with a program called 20-10, where they are making $10 tickets available to their shows.
“I thought it’d be a great idea for us,” Tremonti said. “We just scaled down our production and just go out and put on a great show for our fans.”

It is awesome to see these guys back in action. The music, the lyrics and the energy in this album is amazing. Love to hear that they recognize their unwaivering fans. It was a pleasure (for a lack of better words) to meet these guys 2 weeks ago in Camden NJ. They definitely blew us away with this year’s performance and I want to say thank you to them for getting it back together!!! It was well worth the wait!!! Rock on Creed-Style!
Having seen Creed live 17 times since they formed… each and every show have been exciting! These guys know how to put on a rock show. The break up of Creed was sad. I was surprised to hear they were getting back together. Then when the new music came out…well, let’s just say I was floored to hear how awesome every song sounded! These guys did a TERRIFIC job! And so good to hear it…ROCK ON! Thanks for the great music and thank you so very much for all the past and future memories!
creed is one of the most awesome groups ever
and i adore them,
and everything that scott stapp has ever sung.

omg…i cant wait until tonight….im there….
I love all the Creed fluffers^ gushing at this new corner Creed has turned. Is it me or does every overplayed song of their’s sound like “My own prison” part II, III, IV,etc.
This band is exactly what is worng with pop/rock today. Good thing that their 15min in the sun has long since set,(see $10 lawn seats for proof), and that they will quickly fade back into obscurity, providing that Stapp can restrain himself from any more domestic violence.
Love all the Creed fluffers^ thinking that this band has turned a new corner.
This band is exactly what is wrong with pop/rock today. Every song sounds like “my own prison” reprise, and follow that song’s formula: Mellow verse/ distortion on the chorus.
Luckily their time in the sun has long since passed(see $10 lawn seats) and we’ll probably not have to hear too much from these fellow if they can restrain themselves from legal entanglements.
Sorry that was posted twice. I love to hate on this band.
BLAH BLAH BLAH……..NO NEED TO SPEND HARD-EARNED CASH TO MAKE THESE BOZOS LIVE HIGH ON THE HOG………IF I WANT TO LISTEN TO NOICE, I PICK UP MY GUITAR AND START “PLAYING” IN MY GARAGE…….BLAH BLAH BLAH…
Saw them in Mansfield MA. and Gilford NH, best shows I have seen them do yet! So much Passion came through! Awesome shows!
