Once again, Langerado is gone.
An attempt to revive the South Florida music festival ended up failing, as the concert, scheduled for Oct. 8-9 at Davie’s Markham Park, was canceled by promoters Boros Entertainment. It’s the second time that Langerado has been canceled in the last three years — in 2009, the show was canceled due to economic reasons after being slated for Miami’s Bicentennial Park.
Tickets were initially selling for $150 in advance, $180 at the gate, although The Miami Herald reports they were dipping in price to as low as $75.
The lineup included Death Cab For Cutie, Arctic Monkeys, Trey Anastasio, Ben Harper and Ween. The Herald reports that the lineup had been getting criticized on Facebook since it was announced back in June.
On Twitter, Death Cab lead singer Ben Gibbard, whose band was also part of the canceled 2009 festival, expressed his apologies to fans: “Sorry to all who were looking forward to seeing us at Langerado. Very upset that we’ve had to say this twice in the last 5 years.”

The road to concert promotion is met with many failures. Everybody thinks they can do it but few can. It’s risky and expensive to begin with, and in this economy it’s not for the under capitalized.
The lineup sucked… end of story.
The lineup sucked? You are a moron.
High ticket prices and lame-o acts = failure!
