Cobra Starship plays Respectable Street on Friday.

More about Cobra Starship’s appearance

When Respectable Street, the venerable West Palm Beach nightclub, booked Cobra Starship for Friday, no one could’ve predicted that in the time between that day and now, the pop-punk band would have a massive hit on its hands.

Cobra Starship’s “Good Girls Go Bad” features Leighton Meester from the CW series Gossip Girl. Meester’s presence helped the song hit the top 10, getting as high as No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Good Girls Go Bad” is the first single from the band’s new album, Hot Mess.

It’s not as if the band hasn’t had a hit out of nowhere before. In 2006, Cobra Starship received loads of airplay for their first single, “Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)” from the film of the same name.

Opening for Cobra Starship are Plastiscines, The Friday Night Boys and Skeet Skeet.

The show starts a big weekend for Respectable Street, which also will be holding its 22nd anniversary party on Saturday. Among the bands on the annual free block party’s bill are Freezepop, Afrobeta, Sick Puppies, Kill Miss Pretty, Astari Nite, The Freakin Hott and Viva Le Vox.
