After rumors on the Internet last week about a gay celebrity who was set to come out of the closet, country music star Chely Wright confirmed the news today.

Most famous for her singles “Shut Up and Drive” and “Single White Female,” the now 39-year-old musician was named Top New Female Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music in 1997.
“There had never, ever been a country music artist who had acknowledged his or her homosexuality,” Wright, 39, told People. “I wasn’t going to be the first.”

But now, she’s singing a different tune.
“Nothing in my life has been more magical than the moment I decided to come out,” Wright said.
Wright’s memoir, Like Me: Confessions of a Heartland Country Singer, will be released later this week. She is also to release Lifted off the Ground, her first album in five years.
Chely was probably one of my favorite female country singers when I first started listening to country way back when. This doesn’t change a thing about how I feel about her. I hope she feels more grounded with her decision to face her fears and to hell with everyone who doesn’t accept her decision. Life is short and the only person we have to answer to in the end is God himself. Good Luck Chely on your next CD. If it is half as good as your last one…you will be on top of the world!

It is time that people stop judging on things that are none of thier bussiness. I hope you continue to produce music. I am not a country music fan though I can listen to her sing and not change the station. If country doesn’t want you come over to rock and blues we will take you.
If you are selling music, tell us about your music, that’s all we want to know. I don’t need to know your personal business unless if effects the music that I listen to or buy. I don’t expect every person in the entertainment business to disclose their sexual preferences.

There are some things that inquiring minds do not need to know. We do not need to know an actor’s or singer’s sexual orientation. We also do not want to hear about sordid adulterous affairs either. Sit down, shut up, don’t ask, don’t tell because we do not want to know. Just sing, act, play sports or do what you are good at and let it be at that.
I doubt she’s really a lesbian. I think she just needs a real man to show her what she’s missing. I’d do it for her but I already have all the female nonsense I can handle in my life.
Of course, if Chely’d be willing to come over and bring her “friend” with her for a MFF threesome, then we might be able to work something out.

This is just sad. I feel sorry for people with this abnormality. If we would just stop pretending like it was something OK or healthy maybe we could save some people from getting into it. …and don’t give me the line about people being born that way. many were abused as children. Lisa: so why are people “gay”? If you think from a Darwinian point of view – which excludes any supernatural existence, you find that such a “gay” gene would not reproduce over the “millions” of years that humanity has been roaming the earth. So, that being the case, is it a genetic mutation? Are they mistakes? I watched a movie in college biology that hypothesized that, due to the the duress of pregnant women during WW2, people were being born with homosexual orientation. The video showed rats being tested. One set of pregnant rats were constantly barraged with flashing lights while the other was not. The flashing light offspring were then shown to be “more prone to being gay.” Then they tested the hormone levels of the WW2-born babies. They first showed males being injected with estrogen. Then they tested the levels of estrogen in the “gay” males to see if there was more. As soon as the video was over, I had to ask the teacher if these males were being injected would not their levels be higher? He could not explain this lunacy! So, gays are mutants or they are taught it due to environmental variables. Either way, we all learn to reject “natural impulses” such as stealing, selfishness, violent tendencies, lying, cussing, etc. Lots of people claim to be born with pedophile desires, bestiality desires, desires to rape, etc. Why are these wrong but homosexuality is okay? Because YOU say so? You are not more intelligent nor are you divine, so I will not adhere to your twisted, culturally-driven opinions. So as most people on here are saying “SHUT UP!” We are tired of people shoving pro-gay propaganda in our faces! It is not scientific, not Biblical, nor it is logical . . . AT ALL!!!

Cyan, I really do appreciate the compliments. But I’m all too aware that lesbians want me. And I have had a few lezzies in my day, including a number of threesomes (I guess they were strictly speaking bisexual chicks) and even a set of non-identical twins once.
