Courtney Love is no more. Call her Courtney Michelle.
The lead singer of Hole, widow of Kurt Cobain and mom to Frances Bean Cobain has decided that she no longer wishes to be known by the last name Love. In the latest issue of NME, the singer has decided to go by her real middle name, Michelle — her full given name is Courtney Michelle Harrison.
In the NME interview (via Spinner), the ex-Love explains why she dropped the stage name:
“We’ve all decided we don’t like her any more. We love her when she goes onstage, but I don’t need her in the rest of my life.”
She also said she’s tired of talking about Cobain: “I am not his spokesperson on Earth.”
Hole’s newest album, Nobody’s Daughter, is due out on April 27. It’s the band’s first album since 1998′s Celebrity Skin.

Do you people really think that she cares if people she doesn’t know don’t like her? Get over it. Also, KC was great, but the man had problems and there is no real evidence that anyone else killed him but him. So just go listen to the music and enjoy it. And, in my opinion, Courtney sounds way better than most of the shit out there today.
She can change her name all she wants. But she will never change who she is. Labels are meaningless. Actions define the person. And her actions have consistently defined her as a horrible, horrible person. I hope Frances turns out to be more like Kurt (minus the drug addiction) and nothing like Cwhoretney.
