SunFest playlist: Check out the music
SunFest video cavalcade: Wednesday/Thursday | Friday | Saturday
More from the acts that were named as SunFest’s music acts in our “video cavalcade”. Wrapping things up with Sunday:
First up, Nas, the long-time rapper who has made a career out of being a positive voice in the face of dangerous times. A great example of this is his single “One Mic”:
It’s no coincidence that Nas and Damien Marley will be playing on the same day — they’ve worked together several times in the past, including the excellent song “Road to Zion”, which you can hear on our playlist.
But Bob Marley’s son has carved out a great career on his own, which began with the powerful “Welcome To Jamrock”:
John Ondrasik has built a catalog of piano-based songwriting as Five For Fighting. Here’s perhaps his best-known song, “Superman (It’s Not Easy)”:
Jazz musician Marcus Miller plays a slew of instruments — keyboard, saxophone and clarinet — but his best work comes on the bass guitar. Here’s his song “Power”:
Crossing the line between punk and Irish folk music, Flogging Molly promises a high-energy show on the downtown festival’s final day. Here’s “What’s Left of the Flag”:
Ben Harper has one of the finest live reputations around — his shows are pure, joyous events. Here’s “Steal My Kisses”:
Wrapping it up with a party… that’s what SunFest decided to do this year when they named the B-52s to its final night. Here’s their hit “Roam”:
