IMAX theater to open in suburban Delray Beach

By Emily Roach

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

Jupiter-based Frank Theatres is building four IMAX theaters this year, including one in suburban Delray Beach.

Marketplace in Delray, a new shopping center at West Atlantic Boulevard and Lyons Road, will house the Frank Theatre Cinegrill and Bowl, where the IMAX will be housed. Frank Theatres owner Bruce Frank said earlier this year that the entertainment complex will feature 12 screens, a 16-lane bowling alley, a restaurant and more.

The four IMAX theaters will open in November along the East Coast as part of a revenue sharing agreement with IMAX Corp., according to a news release. Two more are slated for 2013. The Frank Entertainment Co., the parent company of Frank Theatres, also has a bowling complex opening in CityPlace this fall.
