The bar: Prosecco Cafe, Palm Beach Gardens

The vibe: Breezy and light-filled, Prosecco Cafe hits all the high notes on the goodies scale - homemade gelato, pastries so flaky and tempting that you’ll be perfectly willing to live on coffee and air all day to indulge in one or three or seven, and a great wine list featuring, among others, the sparkly white vino from which it takes its name. It’s the kind of sophisticated but comfortable place you feel comfortable lingering. And that’s good, because there’s a lot to eat.

The drink: The Prosecco Paradise ($7), featuring the cafe’s special Prosecco-infused pineapple sorbet (available only to the over-21 crowd, of course) and a healthy helping of the bubbly stuff. It’s drinkable dessert (and looks pretty classy while you’re partaking.)

Other noteworthy libations: Peach and Blackberry bellinis ($9), a full selection of white and red wines and craft beers.

Best bite: You might think we’re nuts to suggest that a bread basket ($2.49) is the most intriguing thing on a menu - or that you should even have to pay for a bread basket. But the carbtastic basket of delights is well worth the miniscule price tag. Sample a selection of their famous hearty muesli bread, baguette, low-calorie 7-grain croissants, or cheese bread, which we want to create a special diet for that only requires eating cheese bread.

Other bar bites: Velvety tuna tartar ($12) and the varied antipasta platter ($11)

Deals: Happy Hour gives you two-for-one Prosecco (of course!) and wine from 4-6:30 p.m.

Information: Prosecco Cafe, 4580 PGA Blvd., PGA Commons. (561) 622-3222

Recipe: Prosecco Paradise

1 small scoop of Prosecco-infused pineapple gelato (you can use regular pineapple gelato if you must)

4 ounces chilled Prosecco

Fresh pineapple wedge

Put gelato in champagne glass, then add Prosecco and garnish with pineapple wedge.
