The bar: Estia Greek Taverna

The vibe: Surrounded by the palm tree-studded tony-ness of Boca Raton's Royal Palm Plaza, a stone's throw from the classically Floridian Boca Raton Resort, is a little bit of bright, laid-back Greek hospitality.

You can have a drink inside in a bar that suggests a Greek farmhouse by way of Elle Décor, but we like the patio, where Boca swells mix with ordinary folks and sometimes owners Thanasis Vasilakis and Zafeiris Zambiyadis.

The name comes from the name of Hestia, the Greek goddess of the hearth. She would approve, we're sure.

The drink: Ouzo lemonade, which is exactly what it sounds like - a refreshing mixture of the traditional licorice-kissed Greek liqueur, and terrifically tart lemonade.

It's an unexpected marriage of sweetness, richness and sass, made to sip.

Bar bites: All of your favorite Greek appetizer favorites abound - the cucumber goodness of tzatziki ($7.95), the flaming fun of the burning cheese saganaki ($9.95), and dolmades, or stuffed grape leaves ($7.95). This is not mall Greek food - it's all freshly prepared, all lovingly made and served with smiles.

Other noteworthy libations: Estia has an interesting collection of Greek wines and beer, including Mythos and Alfa, both $5, as well as your domestic brews.

Deals: Estia's Happy Hour features many of their most popular hot and cold bar bites at $5, including the calamari (yum), the crisp fried zucchini (double yum), the tzatziki (yum squared) and the dolmades. That's 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., seven days a week!
