This week’s bar: Tiki Waterfront Sea Grill

The scene: Located west of Peanut Island along Riviera Beach Marina’s newly renovated boardwalk, Tiki Waterfront Sea Grill celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Thanks to the thatched roof of the sprawling outdoor space, a steady breeze off the Intracoastal and live music seven days a week, it’s one of those nearby destinations that feels like a far-flung vacation spot. “We are in our own little world over here,” says manager Kelly Rogers. “It’s homey. It’s affordable. And we have a friendly staff – a lot of servers who have been here since Day 1.”

The signature cocktail: The Blueberry Lemonade ($6), made with Bacardi Wolf Berry rum, is layered with deliciousness, literally. Thanks to strawberry puree on the bottom of the cocktail, when you sip the drink through a straw, you first taste the sweetness of strawberries, which is balanced by the pucker of lemonade. A good drink at a good price.

Other drinks: When life gives you lemons, order the vodka-based Frozen Sweet Tea Lemonade ($7) and turn that frown upside down. The bar also mixes a knockout Malibu punch ($13), a dangerously delicious concoction of several fruit-flavored rums and juices served in a plastic bucket you can take home.

Bar bites: You may be sorely tempted by the bar’s newest menu item – gorgonzola chips ($7.75) – and with good reason. Perfectly deep-fried potatoes sprinkled with cheese? Sinfully good. Trying to eat healthier? Meet your new friend, Tuna Ponzu ($11.25).

Deals: During happy hour — from 3 to 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close weekdays — a small selection of beers is $2, house wine is $4, and Absolut, Bacardi, Jack Daniels and 1800 Tequila are $5. Wings are 50 cents each, and the happy hour-only menu includes sliders, grouper tacos and blackened chicken nachos.

Entertainment: Live music seven days a week, with full bands on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The bar also hosts a trivia contest on Tuesday evenings.

C O C K T A I L

Blueberry Lemonade

1 part Bacardi Wolf Berry blueberry-flavored rum

2 parts lemonade

Healthy squeeze of sour mix

Healthy squeeze of fresh lemon juice

2 tablespoons of frozen strawberry puree

Mix all of the above ingredients, except the puree. Layer the bottom of a glass with the puree. Top with ice. Pour rum mix on top, but don’t combine. The drink is best when you get a hit of strawberry through the straw first.
