The bar: Bobbi Sue BBQ, Clematis Street

The vibe: Step in off Clematis Street into a welcoming country-esque kiss of Southern charm, a spot with truck-stop savvy and down home sass. Which is to say, it’s true to the theme, but just short of kitschy. And the drinks are delicious. Speaking of which…

The drink: The Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade is exactly what it sounds like: sweet berry goodness, with the tartness of a summer’s day — punched in the mouth with some bourbon. If anything is gonna punch us, we pick bourbon all day long. And it’s served in a Mason jar, which just punctuates the fun. It’s like drinking something out of your grandmother’s cabinet, except ours didn’t serve bourbon. We don’t know about yours. If she did, we’d like her.

Other noteworthy libations: We’ve never been to the Kentucky Derby, but if the Mint Julep ($8.95) is as good as this, as refreshing and minty and julepy, which is a word we just made up to mean delicious. And the Huckleberry Lemonade ($8.95), with puckery huckleberry vodka? Makes you wanna pucker up and kiss someone. We can’t be held accountable.

Bar bites: We’re in love with the sweet potato tater tots ($2.50), the fried pickles ($6.99) and the fried green tomato ($2.99). And check out the chicken and waffles ($9.99) , a staple down south, in Harlem and now here. Aren’t we fancy?

Deals: Happy hour is 3 to 7 p.m., with half-price drinks and $4 appetizers. And there’s a Super Bowl party happening Sunday. Go Ravens! (Can we say that? Well, we did. So there.)

Info: Bobbi Sue BBQ, 223 Clematis Street; 561-838-9099.
