Taking Your Pulse: Brewpub/brewery bar battle down to the final five photo
What’s your favorite local brewpub or brewery bar? (Jason Getz/Atlanta Journal-Constitution)

By Jon Tully

Technically, this week’s poll is a top five instead of a top 10, but it looks like the battle for top local brewpub will be a tight one.

First of all, we’re going to expand it to favorite brewpub and/or brewery bar, since one of our finalists, the Due South Brewery in Boynton Beach, is technically not a traditional brewpub (i.e., it doesn’t serve food). However, because it did have plenty of backers and tends to fit the spirit of the poll, we’re going to give Due South a chance.

So let us know your favorite among our top five — click here to cast your ballot for favorite brewpub and/or brewery bar, and we’ll have the results Monday.

Some of our nominators let us know their thoughts on why they chose their nominees:

Carrie Viles called Due South “a hidden gem with yummy beer.”

Lisa Carvin said Yard House in Palm Beach Gardens had a lot going for it: “It’s not just about the beer — the menu is phenomenal; with creative and beautifully presented food.”

And there were a few comments about Tequesta Brewing Company, including: “Great local brews and the seasonal selections are awesome!”
